''We don't consider this the proper way to treat our future king;...

Nor do I.

If the doltish screeners would profile properly instead of having every Average Joe remove their shoes and if they'd stop confiscating nail clippers, things would go much smoothly.

The TSA needs to be staffed by persons with some intelligence who are trained to look at passengers rather than personal effects. If this was done half of these screeners could go back on the dole or back to placing pickles on Big Macs.

I'm certain that this incident will be seen by Spaniards as an affront to Prince Felipe, regardless of the fact that their new socialist (communist) government is no longer an ally of the United States.

Crown Prince Felipe of Spain and his fiancée pitched a royal fit at Miami International Airport Thursday night, when screeners insisted on searching the future king's luggage -- just as they would any Average Joe's. Go f*** yourself, Princie. All people are created equal, so you will submit equally, you blue-blooded bonehead.

"'We're your allies!' one member of the royal delegation shouted in Spanish to inspectors at a particularly tense moment."

Uh-hum, *correction*.

..were our allies.

I have an idea. If the prince doesn't like our security regulations, why doesn't he keep his princely ass out of the USA? Hmmmm?

I say search his royal butt. What is the big deal? He should be serving as a good example, not as a spoiled brat.

Spain WAS an ally of the US. Now they are just a country that is not hostile to us.

That's the way alliances work, friends come and go. Stover, in this instance, is right.

Say the plane goes boom, and Prince Filipe and his poodle princess become a fine paste, and they were allowed a pass.

Security is what it is right now. Fact is, the technology has to improve before they can relax the policies they have in place. I'm speaking as one who had his cigar lighter confiscated - I had to get out of line, check it into a storage facility in the airport, do my traveling, and then pay to get it out ($12.00)

As for Spain right now, they deserve whatever crap the muslims are going to serve them in the coming days. Spain of all countries ought to have learned from its own history.

Let the prince lick his own elbows for all I care.

Another good reason to do away with monarchies, it's the 21st century already.

If the Crown Prince of Spain wanted to blow up a Spanish airliner, would that really be the business of _our_ security screeners? I think that should fall under the authority of the royal psychiatrist.

Now, Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas has sent the Prince of Asturias, next in line
for the throne, an apology, saying he's asked for an investigation into what went wrong.

A flight departing Miami, FLA bearing the Crown Prince of Spain arrives home safely
because searches discouraged anyone who'd like to put a bomb aboard such a plane.

Contrast that to what would happen at the TSA if an ETA operative did happen to get
a bomb aboard.

Nothing went wrong, hence no need for spending $$$ on investigations.
Heck, even Al Gore, who might have been President, gets the inspections.
End of story.
Next case, bailiff.

''We're your allies!''

Not any more A$$HOLES! Who pulled out of Iraq and left the rest of us with a reinvigorated enemy to battle?

What kind of royalty flies on an airline anyway.

If he was a "real" prince he'd have a private jet.

If Spain is outraged that their royalty is searched, maybe they should provide proper accomodations for their "poser" royals.
