Exactly --"Mr" Sadr, as the Times calls him in its creepy attachment to name formality (Mr. Hitler, Mr. The Hun), knows where his bread is buttered in the US -- as soon as these guys were positively identified as Times employees, they were greeted with smiles and released. Sadr is a tool of the Iranians. Another thing -- we know what a warped picture of reality the press gives in our own society -- as if the streets were teeming with armies of homeless and is if we are all hunkered down in our homes, cowering in fear from the dangerous world outside our doors. It is safe to assume that the same bizarro emphasis on the absolute worst applies to the coverage of Iraq. Not that bad things don't happen; they are just not put in any kind of realistic perspective. I know, have to sell papers.

Such sick people. Their hatred for anything non-Muslim dwarfs any love they claim to have for a family member.

I avoid all articles from the NYT news service. Sorry.
So, how, exactly, can you comment on something you don't read?

I make an exception for posts on FreeRepublic. The NYT is just not a credible source any longer.

OK, I'll eat a heapin' helpin' of crow - I hadn't noticed this was Burns. You're right, he's a straight shooter.
But there are way too many clymers at the NYT to give up my very satisfying hobby of making snide comments about the gray lady.
