The upside could be that by not going in it allowed all the bad guys to collect in one area. line em up and shoot em down.

How so, I meant in military terms. If you mean in the media then you are just agreeing with me - i said it was exaggerated. If the GOP was smart now would be the time to bring up just what the media did during Tet. I will also point out that Tet was 7 years before the fall of SVN. So it is important in the left's mythology about VN, but to say that it was decisive is somewhat dubious. It major impact was getting more leftists elected to congress. VN fell because the Democrats cut off funding the the SVN government, and no other reason.

Democrats also refused to allow Ford to use air power to slow the North's conventional advance. Basically they condemned the South to communism. Kerry spent more time making sure the South lost than he'd spent trying to help them win, for example.

We have no tv to go by. It appears that the Marines are basically the only ones involved in this so far. Any elements of the Army. I got a brother-in-law stationed in the triangle.

Tip of the hat to ya, bogdan.
Thanks for the updates and prayers for your brother's and his friends safe return.
Many Regards

"They are so beatiful together."Of course they are. It is for them that we are fighting. For them we must remain strong, courageous, resolute, and powerful and must keep our thinking clear. We have had our lives and our world. We must keep theirs safe--and them safe.

Really ingenious if planned that way. and letting them believe we only had 1200 guys surrounding them probably emboldened them to attack in waves. right into the sights of the ac130's and apaches.

I just pulled up CNN for an update, and some arrogant anchor said "Things are going from bad to worse over in Iraq." without giving any details. Grrrrr! Nobody asked for your opinion, jerk. Just give us the news.
