As a useful point of reference, the range for annual murders in New York City over the past 13 years is from a Guiliani-led low of ~650 to a liberoid-led high of 2,262 in 1990.

Please pray on this day, and every day, for our Patriot Armed Forces standing in harm's way around the world in defense of our liberty, and for the families awaiting their safe return.

12 more victims of neo-CON nonsense. Way to go CONS. When you going to get around to protect our own borders? Wanting to stupidly play world cop getting brave Americans killed distracting you from the real problems?

Thanks for the post, Ernest.

May God bless those Marines who paid the ultimate price for freedom.
And may God have mercy on their souls.

Personally, 1 Marine should cost no less than 20 Iraqi insurgent lives; (and I do not imply an arbitrary equivalency - 1 to 500 would be better). If the toll is 30 of our guys in the past few days - we need the exclamation point of 500+ lives of the anti-democracy forces strewn on the battlefield.

U.S. Command - open up the rules of engagement to fire at will!

God Bless them all!

I can't help but wonder if the Marines couldn't have come up with more fire power and maybe reduced their casualties. Questions in my mind as to whether the enemy was able to "Close?" Was there more of a surprise factor than we know? With all the "Star Light" devices available to the troops, plus rapid fire area weapons, I would think the enemy would have had to pay a much bigger price?

Shades of Vietnam when NVA sappers would penetrate the various compounds, on their bellies, cutting the wire, etc.

I am sure the good Muslims will hold their Fire for Good Friday services, and give us a peaceful Christian holyday.....*sigh*

we give them their stinking Ramadan and they increase the killing during our Holy Week....

I don't think civilized people can win if we don't act uncivilized at times....

...With fighting intensifying ahead of the June 30 handover of power to an Iraqi government...

Al-Sadr and his crew of thugs are making a power grab before that deadline. Frightened by the US forces he ran for cover today, apparently deciding not to be a martyr, at least not for the moment. This is all being instigated by Iran, which is not happy to see a newly emerging democratic Iraq next door.

God bless our military men and women. I sometimes wish there were publicized fundraisers here at home to support the soldiers' families and willingly share the pain that they're bearing for our country. It's a war that seems over-reported and under-emphasized at the same time.

I pray our military leaders are not making decisions based primarily on limiting collateral damage, resulting in higher loss of American life. Let's just drop a daisy cutter or two in the general vicinity of where the bad guys are. That ought to dampen the enthusiam of al-Sadr's al-Mahdi Army militia for going after more Americans in the future.

Call me uncaring, but I could care less about the Iraqi's who are too stupid to get out of the way. Let's drop one on them. It's time to get a REAL message out that we will NOT tolerate the lawlessness of the Moose Limb crazies trying to undo all the good that's been done.

In my opinion, Iraqis not worth saving from themselves. No lust for democracy that I can see. But cut and run solution likely will turn Iraq into Islamic dictatorship (after a civil war) and an haven for terrorism in short order. Question is, will our staying make any difference in that eventual outcome?

Check out some of the replies on this thread, if your stomach's strong.

I just can't believe that, on a day like today, some Americans would rather argue and fight with other Americans than our enemies.

I also cannot understand why some people think that a Mexican coming over the border to work at a Wal-Mart is a worse threat than terrorist-sponsoring states.

They are SO angry that those borders weren't sealed off, but not because they're worried about Terrs.

Good men died today. Today, I don't care about poll numbers, neo or paleo-cons, or even Leftists. On days like today, we are all AMERICANS, dammit.

Or at least we SHOULD be.

We should kill 100 for every one of ours dead. These people are ungrateful savages. We are trying to help them and this is how they return the favor. I say we neutron bomb not only them but the entire region including Israel. These muslim people are not fit to live and we can split the oil with China. Our Commander is tougher than this, he should light the fires of hell under all of these maniacs. C'mon Mr. President, show these guys who's boss!

R.I.P. to all the good bros who fought the good fight and are now fighting at the side of God.

When I read this article, I start to remember how US was constantly criticizing the Russians for going in to Chechnya, and constantly counting how many of them had died there. Isn't this war is starting to look like the Chechen war now???

I think that US not gonna do anything, but loose many more soldiers and eventually pull out from there.

"IRAQ: 12 Marines, 66 Iraqis Killed in Battles"

My God! Are these in addition to the 8 killed Sunday?

I think it's time to drop the MOAB...or two.

Prayers to the families of these fallen soldiers.
