When a Republican is President, CNN stands for "Cable of Negative News".
When a Democrat is President, CNN stands for "Cable of Nice News".

Thinking the same thing. Chase them into buildings, or "let" them occupy them. Then call in the precision munitions. Then the bulldozers.

1) He snuck away and hid in a mosque.
2) We're going to fix that problem.

The following link may help. I learned some things about the Shi'ites, and something about just what Sadr was trying to do:
http://belmontclub.blogspot.com/ "Nearly all the holy men of Shi'ite Islam have died in Kufa, most notably its very founder, Ali. Having sought refuge there after a power struggle to lead Islam, he was stabbed to death on the site of the Golden Mosque. The eerily prophetic Der Spiegel article describes the mental landscape of Kufa and the Shi'ites."
Sadr has now move FROM Kufa, without getting himself killed. Having him die at Kufa would have been the last thing we would have wanted, I think.

. IE that IRan's objective is to keep Iraq unstable and off-line. But no one wants to know, and the media incessantly does not question who's backing Sadr. You make a good point .. but if President Bush started mentioning Iran's involvement in more detail .. the media/press would go wild with it and claim President Bush is preparing for war with Iran
Seems to me he is walking that fine line of dealing and addressing the issue while keeping in mind that the liberal press is just waiting to punch and slam him with anything they can

"They are the same thing. I think "Shia" is just the plural form of "Shi'ite.""
Even among them, there are the Fivers, Seveners, Twelvers, and so on, based on the number of prophets they recognize. Some of them think there's a "hidden imam" who will come back some day and carry on even more foolishness or whatnot.
I have a better name for them... Worm chow.

Najaf has nothing to do with the Sunni Triangle. Najaf is a Shi'ite city.

Fallujah in the Triangle is about 45 or 50 kilometers west of Baghdad. Najaf is maybe 140 or 150 kilometers south of Baghdad. Hope that helps.
Remember, the Sadr situation and the Fallujah events are really two separate things (well, at a much more murky level there may be some connections).

It would be interesting to know the ideological makeup of these 'refugees'.
It would also be interesting to know if their mother tongue is Arabic or Farsi. Considering they're from Southern Iraq and fled to Iran, no question they're Shiite.

I say they need to bus every single one of their buddies into Najaf and then turn the AC 130's on them, along with the attack helicopters
