From reading the law, it looks like a 4th degree misdemeanor, for carrying where a sign is posted.

I had to go to the local hospital this afternoon, and there was a sign posted. Not, the red circle, slash over the gun, but it stated that NO Weapons of any kind where allowed.

Mr. Komara has just put his employees in greater danger than they were before, wether THEY are allowed to be armed or not. Because as we all know: so called "Gun Free Zones" are really "Unarmed Victim Zones".

Playing devil's advocate here, but if the employees are armed, I can see that there could be some problems or confusion in the event that any armed citizens interceded to try to stop a robbery. If a store clerk sounds an alarm and someone in the back room comes in with a gun, it's not hard to imagine that he might misidentify as a criminal a concealed-carry holder who was trying to help.

That having been said, if the owners are concerned that they might miread the intentions of concealed-carry holders, perhaps they might instead put up a sign asking that all concealed-carry licensees keep their firearms concealed, and that anyone brandishing a weapon in the store may be regarded as a deadly threat and treated accordingly.

I work as a manager/clerk in Ohio....do you guys really think that any customer is going to pull out thier weapon to protect me during a robbery???? Not gonna happen!!!

Folks wishing to conduct armed robberies with little interference will tend to select stores that post signs that indicate few if any firearms are present and in the hands of the "good guys".

My thinking as well. They might as well put up signs which say "Rob me first!"

If someone has a real reason to want a concealed weapon (eg, death threats from someone) I doubt that person will risk his life by leaving the gun locked up in the car when shopping for groceries or whatever.

In my situation, I used to have to pass thru a bad area to get to work, so I carried. As I was coming home from work, I would tend to run errands, pick up something from the supermarket, etc.

One thing you do NOT want to do is be seen removing your gun and putting it into your glove compartment. First, it can be upsetting to some. Second, and more importantly, it may lead to your returning to your car to find a smashed window and missing gun

shygirl, I would not draw my weapon to protect your store's money. I WOULD draw my weapon if I perceived that you, personally, were in danger.

Hopefully, you will never have to find out, if a CCW holder will protect you. If your store has a sign forbidding firearms, then the chances are greater, then if they did not.
