"...the gun had gone...and shot him."

See?

You just can't trust those guns.

Smart weapons for idiots. LOL

AP Update - After shooting him, Mr. Gun snuck away and robbed a local convenience store. Witnesses report that the "assailant" was wearing a leather holster and crome pistol grip. The International Defamation of Inanimate Objects That Shoot (IDIOT) contends that the Mr. Gun is very dangerous and should only be approached by trained professionals. "If you see Mr. Gun, don't interfere" they warned, "merely report him to you local Intellectual Elite". The victim's immediate family is filing a civl suit against its own ancestors, seekng compensatory damages for passing defective genes down their line."

but he apparently didn't realize he was wounded until he awoke early Friday

Sure... I've tried that excuse several times in the past to explain away my self-inflicted gunshots, but my wife never believed me...

(um, actually, I don't have a 'revolved', or a gun, or a wife, for that matter - it was all merely a typo)

The good thing about sleeping with a pistol under your pillow is that the least of your worries is that someone may come in from outside and shoot you. (Trying to think of a reason he slept this way)

Sometime during the night, the gun discharged and shot him in the chest, but he apparently didn't realize he was wounded until he awoke early Friday.

He must have really tied one on the evening before. Hard to pull the trigger in your sleep, with the gun supposedly under the pillow, but I guess he managed...or someone did.

A spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Department speculated the man's pillow might have softened the bullet's impact.

WHAT??????????

with a loaded .22-caliber revolved tucked under his pistol.

I think the writer here was a drunk as the guy who slept through shooting himself in the chest.

I seldom post, but I can't resist this one! My house was broken into, it was bad, and I will not go into detail. But, one night, I was sleeping with my 45 mag and pulled the trigger in my sleep! LOL!

( I know full well that this is not funny)

Fortunately, it just blew a whole in the wall and there were no neighbors in direct line of the shot. ...... Lesson learned, when under stress, do not sleep with your weapon.

About 10 years ago there was a story of a fellow who went to sleep with his 22 revolver. Awakened in the middle of the night, he thought he saw an intruder. He pulled his revolver, took aim at the swaying shape, and promptly shot himself in the penis. His only comment following this incident was that he was glad he grabbed the 22 and not the 45. Evidently, the wound was not all that serious.
