Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife. All his friends. Burn his damn house down. America is too metrosexual right now to get the reality of what we are facing. Thanks to Bill Clinton and Socialism, we think we are going to bullshit our way out of war.
The Russians have just forced the surrender of key Chechnyan terrorists by kidnapping their relatives.
Releasing the Bin Laden family was inept, naive and incompetent.
We can thank terrorism czar Richard Ashol Clarke for that.

Yes, the weapons were SOLD to Iran but the deal specified that the hostages in Lebanon be freed. I really do not think the Iranians gave a hoot about the Contras but saw the deal as a trade for hostages.

More than that, Iraq attacked Iran because Saddam was scared to death of a similar Islamist revolution overthrowing him.

I have no quarrel with the "time line", and there is no question (based on Osama's recorded words) that weak-kneed responses to terrorism from successive Presidential administrations, Democrat and Republican alike encouraged the planners and perpetrators of 9/11. At the end of the proverbial day, however, what finally caught up to us in September of 2001 was a stubborn refusal to recognize that a relatively tiny band of determined fanatics really could make war on a superpower, an almost arrogant, pre-Pearl Harbor-esque belief that our enemies wouldn't dare to attack our homeland (WTC '93 notwithstanding), and a John Kerry-like belief that "good intelligence", "good police work" and cooperation and "dialog" with the countries in which terrorists had found refuge would invariably thwart serious, organized attacks.

What is it about our system of government where we seem to concentrate so many fools and idiots in our government in Washington?
Normal people don't seem nearly as stupid as those fools we elect to govern us.
