DOn't forget the cold medicine. She had taken it, she bought it, said the "abductor" had made her take it. (It was at the scene.
I think she may have a long-standing cold medicine abuse problem. It would explain a lot.
FWIW it causes dissociative states. She had actual injuries in Feb, so that might have been from a seizure that kind of drug abuse can cause.

" Unless they've been conditioned by coddling. " No that won't do it. She went completely bizzare.
" she DEFINITELY needs legal repercussions."
Only as much as it takes to make sure she sees the docs.

I agree.
After two days of this strange game of Telephone, I've learned a lot. I hope everyone stays safe, and I pray the bad guys are finally subdued. We all have a lot at stake.
Good advice for college students is not to go out alone late at night.

She might have been experience a dissociative state...
It can also cause delusions and hallucinations ...
I have a theory now that she's had a cold medicine abuse problem. She might use it recreationally or be dependent on it.
All of the above, plus other altered mental states, can be caused by dextromathorphan in sufficient quantity. She's in the right location and demographic to have a problem with it...
Cold medicine was among the items she bought with the duct tape and rope. She said the abductor made her take it, it was found with the rope and other items....

Yep. The cops and prosecutor in that case from Garden Grove, CA were the ones that failed to seek out the truth. In fact they made sure the guy was picked out by 2 of the girls. The cops and DA set him up. He was guilty from the getgo and that's how they wanted it to be. The girls were only 11 and they lied. So did a lot of other older girls around the country.
The fact is though, that in none of these cases were the girls nuts and in each case, simple logic and an exam of the facts would raise serious doubts. It was always PD and DA complicity that jailed the innocent.

Actually the police chief said the computer was used by a person during the time she was suppose to be missing, not before.

>Have the same compassion you would for someone suffering from any debilitating
illness. They don't ask for it [Hmmm...] ...

God knows -- and I think you do, too -- I am not a libertarian.
But mental "illness" is a metaphor, like them, I'm dubious on.

"It can also cause delusions and hallucinations ... " Dextromethorphan HBr won't do that. It is toxic first and the toxicity would be readily apparent to the docs and her. She'd be physically sick. Drugs that do this sort of thing are the amphetamines.

Look it up - will too.

The police chief interviewed on talk radio said that there were no injuries from the Feb incident. I am sure she made that story up as well.

Hey I challenge you to read most of Szasz's works and NOT become(or realise you are) a libertarian.I usually refrain from wielding that wisdom around emotionally involved people.
To: BonneBlue
I heard otherwise, but can't vouch for the source, basically a FOAF.
I'm thinking about some kind of dissociative state from abuse of dextromethorphan.
Attention getting just can't be the reason for this, although it's clear she wanted to look like a victim.
Any thoughts of your own>?

How about confusion over her uhmm....preferences.Like in softball teams.

Some sort of breakdown, mental illness... She is a straight A student, a perfectionist. My guess, if she had no similar behavioral problems in the past, discounting the Feb incident, she had some sort of mental breakdown.
To: SarahW
Thanks. I know what the effects of that stuff is. The dissociative state mentioned is more like having the flu and being struck on the head in the AM with no coffee. You will also be nauseous. All the commercial preps have other things in them that will cause additional toxic effects. Most of all an abuser of this stuff will be so effected by anxiety they can't function, let alone make up, or go through with anything except to go to sleep. They will be hard pressed to tell any story at all.

This "staged" event was very sloppily done. She is sick. She was pacing in the lobby of the motel, troubled now in hindsight, contemplating. Better this than suicide. I had a friend who went to the same school years ago, same apparent personality, who then attempted suicide at the age of 20. She had a mental breakdown of sorts.
