Great campaign commercial:
"And you thought judicial nominees didn't affect you - when a judge denies your right to Medicare drugs, what are you going to do about it? The Senate Democrats aren't listening and don't care. They don't want you to have a prescription drug plan. Call your Senators today and demand that they vote on my nominees. We'll make sure all Americans get their prescription drugs"
Or something like that, but shorter and with scary music in the background.

Judicial Watch doesn't do anything unless it puts money in Klayman's pocket. Which anti-Bush billionaire is financing this lawsuit?

I can only think of one billionaire who hates Bush and Cheney that much and that would be George Soros.

Libs in the family are bad.
Libs in the family who can't keep their mouths shut even after hubby and I resolved not to talk politics is worse.
We made an agreement not to speak of this untouchable subject. My hubby is a Moderate/Independent, I am a Conservative/Independent, my SIL is a flaming Lib/Dem and my BIL is a Libertarian/Atheist. She broke my resolve when she said that Bush is a liar. I came back with, Kerry is an elitist, gigolo. It went downhill from there. I do have to say that my BIL basically pi$$ed off his wife because I honestly answered questions with facts and all of hers came from "her feelings", so he tended to agree with me. I thank God for FR, or I would know nothing....

The same principle that governed Condi Rice's decision NOT to appear in front of the 9/11 commissioners applies here, I think. The White House was convinced that Condi's appearance was important in many ways, and had the attorney (Gonzalez, Rodriguez...something like that) draft some ground rules for her PUBLIC appearance. She HAS appeared privately, answered all of their questions for something like 15 hours, over a period of time.
All of the constitutional scholars said that the White House was on solid ground in not putting Condi out there, meaning if they were challenged on it in a court of law, they (the White House) would prevail.
And.....I think the same rules apply to Cheney being "ordered" to reveal his notes and papers regarding the energy advisors. Separation of powers, ya know!

Actually, I believe he did ask for input from some environmental groups. You are correct - the National Resources Defense Council raised a huge stink until the VP's office released the invitations that had been sent to all the watermelons. Of course the retraction gets 1/100th the space of the original, false charge.
The separation of powers principle is at stake here. The question is whether the President or VP can solicit advice from someone without Congress overseeing it. Hillary's socialized medicine task farce was supposed to be open because it included people who weren't government employees. They lied about that, were sued, and lost.
In the "Idiot's Guide to FACA" that the Clinton administration put out, the first example they gave for something that could be kept private was the VP meeting with industry leaders to discuss his "reinventing government" initiative. It reads exactly like the Energy Task Force scenario.
Do you think maybe Gore wanted to reinvent gov't because he couldn't take credit for inventing it the first time.

Thanks for the info on Friedman.
I can't say that I'm surprised.
Your tag line, BTW, is fabulous. I hadn't thought of the implications of liberal talk radio beyond the NPR redundancy of it all.

Easy there! If Bill finds out that Hillary was, in fact, the one responsible for the "Clinton body count", it might impact their continuing, passionate, loving relationship.
Why, they are probably dancing on a beach somewhere as I write this. Let's just leave these two love birds alone.

"At least that's the Dem mythology."IT's NOT MYTHOLOGY!!
They are making it work!
I'm still bouncing my head against the wall from having talked with a co-worker (law degree, aerospace career, not dumb and nearly my age, wrench turner on week ends, and often gutsey kind of guy)...he's all tuned to vote for Kerrey (or Htllery) because (get this) "Bush had Howard Stern taken off the air"!
Be very afraid my friends, real people are buying into this drek, will vote because of this drek, and will never know what hit them when they win.
Be very afraid.

They alleged that Cheney, a former energy company executive, drafted energy policy by consulting industry executives. No! There is no law against it. But, it does make good sense, thereby eliminating the approach from Liberal consideration or policy.

I agree to a certain degree. The Left is somehow capitalizing on two assets they command... stupidity and laziness. I heard similar sentiments as you from a couple of my friends this past weekend. They are determined to vote for Kerry because Iraq was a mistake and lower taxes will
"...destroy our children's future." Can you visualize a more stone-cold dumb-founded look than the one that solidified across my face above the line of drool that spilled off my lower lip for a good thirty seconds?
I might add that these are highly over-paid, over-educated researchers for a high tech corporation... hardly the moonbat demographic. I'm not sure how we do battle with an overtly hostile and biased world press. More than the outcome of this election, I profoundly fear an Era informed by a world Pravda. Without an active and objective press, freedom is impossible to sustain and while radio and alternative journalism are sustaining the force of the flood, the task is sisiphean and getting worse.
An environmentalist fool, makes the following allegation: "...that Cheney, a former energy company executive, drafted energy policy by consulting industry executives..." and not a single representative of journalism questions the logic of the charge, much less illustrates the ignorance implied. ???
