Thanks for the BUMP. Hope this excerpt is fun for folks who are reading the series. It has some intriguing possibilities for answers to questions from earlier volumes.

You know. I really want to write a book someday. I'm not well versed in military matters, although I love reading about it. I wonder what I could write about and make it seem professional?

If you are willing to put in the time and the research...you can write about any number of topics. I have sprinkled a lot of sub plots into my series about everything from DNA research, to other medical issues, to geography of places I have never been, to social issues, to space exploration, etc.
IMHO, you just have to dive in with a subject and storyline that interests you, have a thick skin, be willing to learn from the readers who critique you and try and constantly improve.
Hope that helps and best of luck to you!
Jeff

I have several ideas. I am worst with subplots and that sort of thing.

Oh BTW- That was an awesome excerpt. Its obvious you care about the characters you create. I bet it sometimes hurts to kill them off.

"Nabalco decided that they both could benefit from the night air and clear skies. "Well, Tex, why dont we both walk out under the stars now
perhaps we can find some form of answer or comfort for you
and for me too.",'Wow, Jeff, what an exerpt! How horrible to look up and see this devastation . . . Makes me think how blessed we are for a peaceful sky. Sometimes I'm not sure what to pray for, but I do know what I'm thankful for.

Sometimes I'm not sure what to pray for, but I do know what I'm thankful for. As long as we keep that part straight, and always mention it in our prayers...the part about what we need will become more clear to us with time IMHO.
And thanks for the comments about the excerpt. In the setting of an all out World War III, such events become common in the war zones. This one is not the first time such scenes have played themselves out in the series in the heavens...it just has spoecial bearing on the concerns about particular characters.
Have a great sabbath day.

And here's a BIG BUMP back to you AG!
As always, thanks for BUMP'ing these threads. God's best to you and yours.
To: GeronL
Thanks for those comments.
Keeping track of characters and then allowing for some intrigue regarding past events concerning some of them keeps the reader's (and my own) mind working and engaged beyond a straight line narrative and story line. Although that part has to be engaging as well.
The series is building towards its climax and end...but even as the west makes progress events occur that could, at any time, reverse things.
Best Fregards to you and good luck and God's speed in your own literary endeavors.
