Amish drive-by shooting, that's funny!
Excuse my insensitivity.

jThe Bylers are brothers, and the Kempfs are the brothers' mother and stepfather. I think I got lost somewhere between this and the 77 year-old Amish stepfather.

As for the pictures, the newspaper version DID have pictures of the brothers this morning. I guess just the mother and step-father refused to have their pic taken.

They do look different and photos, prints and the generation of an FBI file are std for arrest only. The sheriff has talked to all these parties. It could be the girl's a psycho, but that's not likely. Vernon Co's just up the road abit from me and I'm familiar with the sheriff. There's meat in the charges.
Assume the charges are false. Can you come up with a reasonable story why the girl would come up with such a vicious and hateful story against her family if it isn't true?

" how did you figure out it was the womans daughter"She's the one they are considering bringing charges of failing to protect the 20 y/o. That means she was/is the girl's guardian. She is also the stepfather's wife.

I care nothing about the pics, Spunkets said the girl was the mothers daughter, I did not get that from the article.

Oh, I'm not saying the story's false. It rings incredibly true, just from the article. But, if you take the photo as a part of std. procedure, then everytime an Amishman is charged with something, no matter how credible the claims, he'll get photographed.
A bit of a sticky wicket, but not a serious one, all in all.

Only if the stepdad was married to her mom and she died. Then he got married to this woman. I think the tortured outline of relationships in the story indicate the woman they are considering charging for failing to protect, is the girl's mom.

Not at all, I did not say step child, I said foster child. Usually comes from state foster care system.

The article said he was the step father. You can only attain that by marriage. Also they came from PA. The Amish are not suitable foster parents according to WI, or other states I'm familiar with. Unless the child was Amish to begin with.

"Amish people generally don't like being photographed for religious reasons, and the Kempfs both asked that jail booking shots not be taken. The sheriff's department complied with the request."
What a bunch of horse poo.
