If conservatives are so stupid how come they keep beating the liberals in elections?

And if liberals are so smart, why do most of them (e.g. John Kerry) deny that they are liberals? What a second, maybe that does show some intelligence, because if I were a liberal, I'd be denying it too.

Sorry, sushiman, there is no help. Conservatives think; liberals emote. Trying to reason with this person will be like trying to discuss macroeconomics with a golden retriever.

You can *try* to do it by pointing out that Whitewater was not about a failed real estate deal, but rather about a money laundering scam that was set up to finance Clinton's political career and wound up bankrupting an S&L, leaving the taxpayers on the hook through the FDIC. Likewise, you can *try* to point out that Monica Lewinsky was not about the President's sex life, but rather about an attempt by the President to subborn perjury in order to undermine Paula Jones's sexual harassment lawsuit.

And if you really want to get into it, you can do a little research on VENONA and get some idea of what was really was *really* going on between the U.S. and the Soviet Union in the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. (Hint: the Rosenbergs were guilty as hell and we have the KGB payroll records to prove it.)

You can try all that. But you have to remember, the distinguishing thing about your liberal friend is her wonderful, childlike mind -- which means that as soon as the argument stops going her way she'll pout, call you names, then get bored and cranky and change the subject.
