There was a TV report on child sex, and American tourists in Thailand. I have a mixed feeling about this subject. Thailand does not have child welfare or orphanages. 3 years old kids are left in streets to fend for themselves, because their parent are dead, and may be they only have a six or eight years old older brother or sister to look after them. This situation creates an opportunity for a low life pimp to recruit these children, and feed them as they work for him. Very much like our prostitute trade in this country as it feeds on the runaway girls.

My point is the innocent little girls on the streets suffers hunger, sickness and death all the time, and the prostitution, though it is an awful thing it is not as bad as starving to death, or getting killed for stealing a loaf of bread.

A guy I work with has taken two of these "trips" to Thailand. He's told me heart wrenching stories about these girls. They are sold by their families to these sex businesses that cater to foreigners and have to work off their time. They are virtually slaves. Their time gets extended working for the 'company store'. Most can never return home because they are now fallen women and are trapped forever in this hell. He told me some of the girls are VERY YOUNG-maybe fourteen. He said that some of the guys buy out the girls contracts to free them.

The whole thing is sickening

A buddy of mine at work got a little wide on the shooters and told me about a trip he took to the Hedonism Resort.

I went to Hedonism with some college friends when I was on Spring Break in Jamaica. We didn't stay there- you can get day passes to Hedonism. Anyways, it seemed like a pretty wild time, but there's no prostitution or anything like that. Everyone there is doing what they're doing for free.

Most women who work the sex industry do so to gain wealth and to help support their families, many of whom are in utter poverty. While the mainstream media has portrayed most Thai bar girls as prostituted children who are helpless victims of poverty, this in nothing less than a myth; the reality is the vast majority are mature adults who have willingly continued to work in the sex industry not out of need, but out of greed. The average cute bar girl probably earns a better salary, relatively speaking, than most college graduates in the USA.

The truth hurts. While I've never been to Thailand, my ex was a Filipina. She explained the girls consider themselves overwhelming fortunate to have found such an easy career path to "fame and fortune." They make an equivalent of thousands of dollars a day. Underneath though, the girls are sharks who prey on lonely old American men on vacation, an easy and willing target. The Thai girls, like their US counterparts, pretend to fall in love in order to get monthly checks (from overseas), all the while laughing at the men behind their backs. This article has it backwards, it's often the naive men who are the victims in the trade.

"they may not have anything worse than adverse publicity."

You know what they say about publicity.."No such thing as bad publicity"

I expect when this is all over this publicity will make them millions. The type of guys who take these trips don't care what people think of them, and since prostitution is legal in Thailand, most ordinary people will shrug their shoulders on this one.

I'm surprised they were indicted. Democrats love sex. So what's the problem?

They were "outsourcing" jobs that should have gone to the local crack ho's?

the type of activity one goes to Thailand for is strictly hetereo

Thailand has been a favorite with faggots for at least 20 years.

prostitution is legal in Thailand

No it isn't, but the authorities look the other way, (usually for money.)

the vast majority are mature adults

Generally true. Mostly 17-20 year olds.
Most of them have a child already and are sending money back
to their parents to support the child and their siblings.
The girls tell their parents they're working in a factory, as a housekeeper, or in an office.
The parents pretend to not know the truth.

There has been a trend in the past ten years of college girls
picking up on the wealthier farang.
They don't generally need the money but are doing it for the kicks.
Even high school age girls are getting into the act now, but stick mostly to wealthy Thai.

the naive men who are the victims in the trade

Very true if they fall for the sob stories and sweetness.
Farang have "sucker" tattooed on their foreheads.
I've known girls getting monthly checks from a half dozen guys at the same time.
The money was to "free" them from that terrible life style.
The girls brag to each other about the number of suckers
currently on the line, and the amount of money being sent.
