The Yemeni Foreign Ministry said all efforts to peacefully resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict collapsed with Yassin’s killing.

This statement struck me as one of the funniest ones made. Peaceful resolution is impossible when one side (the Muslims) want the other side (Jews) dead.

My attempt at understanding why they strap bombs to children and other innocents is to equate it with the underground resistance in France during WW2. I also imagine if the US were under military rule by another country as well. Would I resort to killing the enemies' woman and children in an attempt to free myself and my country from their occupation (and I'm not saying Israel is occupying Palestine - I'm merely attempting to understand the Palestinian reason for the suicide bombing madness)? I wouldn't resort to that. Yes, I could kill the occupying soldiers, but not their families. However, even if I could and would, the retaliation of the occupying army (be it Nazi / Islamic / Communist etc.) would be unbearable - can you imagine the horror that would ensue if those types of regimes were occupiers of the US and the US resistance would rise up as the Palies are and begin bombing the innocent families of the soldiers and not the soldiers themselves?
