Someone in FR had an interesting point of view. During WWII, Spain was neutral. Why spend money and resources when other countries will do the job for you.

Spain benefitted stupendously from economic globalization after Franco's death in the '70s.

But apparently the Spaniards feel that they can reap the benefits of globalization without shouldering any of the responsibilities.

The Spanish chose to capitulate

Its not over yet. AQ said that it will take 2-3 hits to bring Spain inline. What else could they want? Prisoner release, money, mosques, more immigration, give back the disputed territories?

"Prime Minister -elect Zapatero has just urged Americans to dump President Bush in favor of Senator Kerry."

Can you imagine President Bush urging the Spaniards not to vote for Zapatero? It would be an outrage....so how come it's okay for this jerk to tell us who we should vote for?
