Our paper had this stuff on page 1 today too, but the storty was incredibly lame and full of equivocation about how many people turned up at these "rallies."
There was one here (west coast Florida) where 25 people showed up. They had to say so. tee-hee.

I have not gone outside to get the paper this morning, nor turned on the tv.

Reading the paper and smiling.
If these people are all we have to worry about, we're golden.
To: Rabid Dog
Actually, on the bottom of the front page of the Arizona Republic there was a picture of war protestors. This is reasonable since they really are news.
However, I was pleasantly surprised to see the picture caption end with "however local Iraqi's are celebrating the beginning of the war"! That was an addendum which is appreciated.
To: proxy_user
It's not the protesters - it is the machine behind them. I'm going to write a letter to the editor today enlightening them to the fact that our local "peace" march weren't just some happy, peaceful Ventura citizens that just happened to show up whilst tripping through the daisies.

Are you reading the paper this Sunday morning and fuming? Hate the spin of the paper.................
Do something proactive - its not too late...........
Don't just read today's paper or listen to today's news ...................do something equally positive.
Get more involved in FreeRepublic.
Being more active in FreeRepublic is a good idea, but I have a better one. If you are subscribing to the newspaper, you are supporting the the very media that you are complaining about.
Take a proactive stand and CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION!! Don't put your money in the hands of the enemy. Don't watch the Alphabet networks, make sure that you don't go to movies that support the leftists. Don't support the media that is hurting us.
In short, put your moeny where your mouth is. Hit them where it hurts......... in subcriptions, viewership and in advertising revenue. Never miss a chance to let a business know that you haven't seen their ads.
In short, be proactive and defund the left with the prudent use of YOUR money, it is something that you can do each and everyday.

Do both!
Actually, the papers don't really care about the individual subscribers. The best way to get them is to complain to their major advertisers that you won't buy their product because they advertise in a left-leaning, un-American rag.
Best of all - do all three! Complain, cancel and join!

I sent this letter to Richard Cohen of the Waswhington Post today. But, he is getting old and makes a lot of mistakes and uses poor or no logic in his articles.
Dear Mr. Cohen,
I think that you should look in the mirror first when you try to blame the President for not being a uniter. He could cure cancer, solve the Israeli-Arab problem, and give everyone a $100,000 job and you would still hate him. And take cheap shots at him. He has rejected the ugly politics of division: not you. You do not have any logic in your arguments, either.
For one you say he is acting like he won the presidency with a mandate. You have to lead. I never read that you complained about this with President Clinton, and GWB got more votes than WJC. And, you will never let go of Florida. Never. Well, President Bush won there, he won the recount, and every recount since when conducted by various news people like yourself. Why you keep screaming about this makes no sense,
And, to blame it on the Supreme Court. Al Gore tried to steal the election and that is OK with you. Al and an activist court, tried to have a "Selected" recount of what was it, just four heavily Democratic counties, and the Florida Supreme Court unanimously said that was just fine with them. Of course, these judges were all Democrats. That certainly was eliminating all other votes in the other counties. Why would that be fair or even constitutional? That did not bother you at all.
So, you should look in the mirror about whether you will be a uniter or not.

Actually, the papers don't really care about the individual subscribers.
The newspapers may not rely on your individual subscription revenue, but they do rely on the total number of subscribers in which to base their advertising rates. For example if only 100 people subscribed to their paper, no advertiser would bother. The more people that drop the paper, the more revenue leaves the pockets of the left.
I dropped the local newspaper about 10 years ago and they are constantly calling to try to GIVE me a subscription. They need those subscription numbers in order to hike thier ad rates. Naturally I love telling them that trees must die to make newsprint and that their leftist, anti-American drivel is a waste of one of God's precious trees (that usually shuts them up 8^) )
You are right in doing all three, but you must make decisions everyday that will further your goals. Personally, I try to defund the left, and support as many conservatives as possible.

Yeah...the Palms Springs paper reported thirty of 'em, but made themselves feel better about the situation by reporting that "lots of cars honked in support".
