Thanks so much, don't knock yourself out though. I can search. I thought you might have it.

I could have guessed Helms and Strom. Tower I hadn't thought of.

Strange that John Tower died in a plane crash as did John Heinz. One of the congressmen on the list was shot dead a couple of years after the VVAW murder plot meeting. (Looking for my tinfoil hat).

Terry DuBose, who is quoted about this in "Winter Soldiers" said that there were six or seven Senators. They had all voted for funding the war.

"They had a list of six senators ... Helms, John Tower, and I can't remember the others, who they wanted to assassinate when they adjourned for Christmas."

In "Home To War" Camil (whose idea it was) was more vague:

"Camil now proposed the assassination of the most hard-core conservative members of Congress, as well as any other powerful, intractable opponents of the antiwar movement - the ones who would rather die than see America suffer a military defeat in Vietnam."

Kerry's Group The VVAW Discussed Assassinating Seven Pro-War Senators In December 1971

Was Kerry Involved In Plans To Murder 7 US Senators In 1971?

But subsequent interviews have listed the Senators as southern, and including also Nunn. There have probably been others mentioned, but they have escaped my mind.

Bo, who's been a 100% Clinton man whenever I've heard him on IMUS, has one of the filthiest mouths on the air, but he does seem to understand the crime committed by Kerry. No wonder he pretended not to have been at the meeting until several people remembered having seen him there; then suddenly he stopped talking about it. Does an honest Democrat exist?

Kerry is out, accused of a felony. The competition is eliminated...Who will save the party????

Right, we all know that being accused of a felony is an absolute disqualifier for the Democratic presidential nomination. :)

Thanks. Here's a hint from two earlier threads:

One of the most disturbing things about this is that one of Kerry's "band of brothers" (former VVAW member and currently) the head of Veterans For Kerry is LEANING on these witnesses to get them to shut up.

He tried to lean on Musgrave, who is a disabled vet--but he held his ground. Barnes didn't.

John Musgrave of Baldwin City, Kan., said Hurley called him twice and in the second conversation asked the disabled veteran to contact the newspaper reporter to say he had doubts about the memory.

That's pretty outrageous, isn't it? I almost expect to see a Newsmax story based just on that line.

As you know Hurley is more than just an organizer for vets, he is the head of Veterans For Kerry. And here he is pressuring some disabled vet to lie for Kerry.

J "effin'" K disgusting! And it's clear that is what happened to Barnes and others.

If my memory serves, there were only two names mentioned that were on the list, Senator Jesse Helms and Senator John Tower. I believe there were six or seven senators on the list though. Kerry should have reported this meeting. Conspiracy to commit murder is a felony. And being that the targets were U.S. senators makes it a federal offense. The statue of limitations has long expired but his political life may be falling into an abyss. This may be the nail in Kerry's political coffin.

Right, we all know that being accused of a felony is an absolute disqualifier for the Democratic presidential nomination. :)

In reality it is a requirement. Otherwise there would be no Democrat nominee.

You're so right. I hope the nail doesn't get driven home too fast. November is a long time from now.

At least Kerry is a known entity with a long record.

Unless of course Howard Dean wanted to jump back into the race ;)

"In your reading, did you discover whether Kerry actually voted no?"

"Hon" would know a lot better than I. He has been the one on top of this whole Kerry scandal. As I recall Kerry bailed out of the meeting when they started talking about assassinations.

My gut feeling is that these VVAW were just a bunch of "waanabes" probably most weren't even veterans much less Viet Nam veterans...and the Communist were probably behind them. Kerry was probably one of the few who was actually in Nam if only for four months.
