Today I joined up with weldgophardline and spouse, CardCarryingMemberVastRightWC, and a surprise guest from our old Tyranny Response Teams days, Robert Teesdale.
We arrived across the street from the peace-nik's gathering place a full hour before they were to start marching. Total surpise! They were milling around in the yard and huddled up to hear their leaders. Bongo drums played, peace songs were sung and they took turns just starting at us with shock on their faces. There were a lot of them with total anger on their faces also.
I started out with a total of eight signs, all the same size and double sided so I could binder clip them together and then switch them out occasionally. "PACIFISTS ENCOURAGE TERRORISTS" greeted them from across the street. "THANK GOD IT'S W!", "GOD BLESS PRESIDENT BUSH!", "PACIFISTS LIVE IN LA LA LAND!", "SADDAM FILLED MASS GRAVES", "JOHN F'n K., NO F'n WAY!", "LIBERATION IS NOT OCCUPATION!", greeted the arriving peace-niks as they arrived. Your could tell their was an air of "just like the good old 60's" for the older ones, ( Cool Man, Real Cool, except who are those guys across the street supporting Bush?)
This is when the true nuts came out of the woodwork. We had a lady come up to tell the whole truth about the new world order. She was straight out of the twightlight zone. I'll let CCMVRWC tell that story, I was too busy ducking black helicoptors, LOL!
Someone also must have left the door at the loonie bin, I met an ALEIN!! ROTFLMAO!!! This guy on a bicycle, came up to us as we were getting ready to stash vehicles at the ending point of the march and carpool to the starting point. He was there to hear the speakers and march with the peace-niks. He came up to us again and starting talking as we stood across from the bongo drums. Nice enough guy, he actually agreed with us on most things, and also agreed with them. During our conversation he says to me "I'm and alein!" I cracked up laughing and he says "No, I'm serious, I really am!" ROTFLMAO!! I thought he was kidding and making fun of the black helicoptor lady until he started talking. Here is his story: He came to earth in 1961 from the planet SILICA, where all the people are made out of glass and have three heads. He was welcomed by a family of government beauracrats who arranged for his citizenship papers. He never wants to go back to the planet SILICA, because "I'm too human now." (music track from the Twilight Zone, do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do!) This FReeping sure is fun!!
The reporter from the newspaper came over and Jerry Wacker ran right up to get interviewed. He is the long lost cousin of Gary Packer. LOL!
There were about 90 peace-niks when the march started. We stayed back abour 50 to 100 yards and let the public know there was the RIGHT point of view being supported also. I carried my "GOD BLESS PRESIDENT BUSH!" sign and my flag and got a whole bunch of honks and thumbs up as we went. Two block down the lefties had to march right past the proud Veterans of VFW Post 1781 having their never ending SUPPORT OUR TROOPS RALLY. The vets today knew this was going to happen and had the full gang out there. They were playing bagpipes, had the drummers going, and the public went CRAZY in support!! All the cars at the intersection were blowing horns and giving thumbs up. The peace-niks only got a handful of honks all day.
We then proceeded to follow the march as it went down College Avenue to Old Town Square where they had a stage set up for speeches. We took up our positions at the end of the walk-thru mall and continued to counter protest. Lots of people came up and thanked us for being there. I went down and took some pictures of the gathering and listened as the Democrat and Green Party caandidates slammed President Bush and they tried to revive the 60's. What a bunch of unhappy people. As for us and the Vets, we had a ball and my jaw still hurts from grinning.
CCMVRWC will get the pictures up soon, they are downloading right now.
To all you FReepers who did the same thing today, God Bless You! You didn't go unnoticed!

Good work, trteamer and nice to know the great Robert Teesdale is still in action!
I had a campaign workers' seminar today, but I managed to get in a few blasts at the terrorist sympathizers afterward. They were crawling all over the place with their shopping bags. I guess they enjoyed the wonderful shops in our city after putting it in greater danger, and enjoyed the free-enterprise system after helping the commies.

It was an excellent day. A pleasure to see all the patriots who turned out, and the tremendous response from the Fort Collins traffic - a serenade of constant horns and waves as they went by our signs and flags.
Kudos to all who came. And a very special acknowledgement to the VFW members who attended. It was especially touching to see the elderly World War Two veteran there. I couldn't help feeling a strange mixture of pride, sorrow and shame at that.
Pride that even in the last years of his life, after having served in the most horrific war in America's history - he is still adamant about standing up for the nation and his comrades.
Sorrow that it should be necessary.
And shame at the horrific display of ingratitude and the equally foul demonstration of spineless, unpatriotic nonsense he had to witness parading itself across the street. I promised myself that I, and my son as he grows up, would not forget our troops and their sacrifices.
Those abominable leftists do not represent the flower of our nation.
My son has been to TRT rallies with me in the past. Today he was very proud to be wearing his "Marine clothes" and his Uncle Shubie's cover. Uncle Shubie's with the 5th Bn, 7th D Marines in Iraq. My son idolizes him, and misses him terribly.
He was proud to be able to "stick up for him" today. And my thanks to my fellow FReepers for providing him with a classy demonstration of patriotism.
The leftists were aghast enough at the holstered cap .45 on his little waist to make a point of filming him. With any luck he'll be on IndyMedia as the "deadly new generation of patriots" being formed.
Damn right!

Thanks for bringing your son today. Sorry I forgot to mention him in the intro.
Put April 17th on your calender. That is the day of the Welcome Back celebration for our local Army Reserve unit coming home from Iraq. There will be a grand Support Our Troops Rally, the Vets are really gearing up.
All the Best!

Nothing less than what duty demanded. My son's an American, and by God he'll know what that stands for. He wants to be a U.S. Marine like Uncle Shubie. Says he wants to drive tanks. Funnily enough, my father was a tank commander in '47 with the Royal Horse Guards, and my great-grandfather was a British tank brigadier in the Great War. Must be in the blood.
"God bless America!"

It was a grand time for both of us. I'm taking note of the 4/17 date and we'll be sure to be there. Let's spread the word on this one!

Today was one to put into the books as being in the twilight zone. I don't know where they get these space cadets but boy they were out there today.TRtmeaner had a good alien to talk to and Card carrying had the conapiracy nut,I had the ones that did not like my signs, which were : Expcept ending Slavery , Fascism,Nazism, and Communism WAR HAS NEVER solved anything. It pi** ed off the whole bunch that and the one that said "SAY NO TO WAR unless a Democrat is president...
I put these away after we made it to where the Vets were because it had traffic yelling at us because they were mad by thhe time they made it to us about 50 feet behind the unwashed. The smell was so bad that we should have been 200 feet behind them. The reporter of the local rag asked if the USA should make war on anyone it could. They just don't get we were the ones attacked on 9/11 and hell yes we have the right to defend our country if we deem it could prevent attack by someone that is giving shelter to terrorists.
They refuse to listen to any truth about the war and would rather make up some excuse for Saddam and the terrorists of the world.
The hate that was displayed todayy against President Bush just ran like acid rain thank god for good shoes.
After we had left the Vets and followed the drones it got a little exicting back at the Vets. My wife told me about how the one that had made the threat on the President some weeks back he and one of the other idiots pushed one of our vets. He is lucky the police were around in force because he might have been killed by some great people.I know my wife was about to use her cane on him, and I know it would not have been pretty she can hold her own.

An interesting footnote. One of the people on the far side of the street, amongst the leftists, was Duncan Philp. I've known Duncan for a few years via the TRT; so after the rallies were over and dispersed, I drove over to say hello.
A quick trade of hellos and news, and then I got back into my car. Instantly there were four or five Fort Collins police cars surrounding us, and several officers "making sure there wasn't a problem." They seemed somewhat disappointed that there wasn't an incident. A very attractive, very young (I'm getting old, I suspect) and exquisitely polite blonde lady in uniform took my contact information down, and wished me a good day. When I left they had Duncan surrounded. Wonder how that went.
To: Robert Teesdale
