Claremont McKenna is not a conservative school.

However, the communist new president (Pamela) Gann is attempting to purge the faculty of the conservatives.
President Gann has an extensive background in international education, including teaching American law and international trade in the People's Republic of China, France, Denmark, and at the Salzburg Seminar, Salzburg, as well as an intensive training session in Hanoi, where she helped train 100 Vietnam government officials in preparation for bilateral trade agreement negotiations. She has also visited at the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan, and was awarded an International Affairs Fellowship by the Council on Foreign Relations, through which she worked at the International Monetary Fund and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Gann is an active leader in law, higher education, and international policy. She has been elected to membership in the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Women's Forum, the Society of International Business Fellows, and the American Law Institute. She is an elected Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She serves as a member of the Standards Review Committee of the American Bar Association Section on Legal Education, the Deloitte & Touche Council on the Advancement of Women, the Committee to Visit Harvard Law School, and the Board of Governors for the Center on Creative Leadership. She is an elected Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development, and was awarded the "Woman Lawyer of the Year" award by the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys.
How lovely. Any relation to Bill Gann?

CMC is only a slightly less left wing school than most. Horrible if you want a decent "Greats" education, indeed, the far more liberal schools of Pomona and Scripps have far better offerings in the Great Books tradition. As a CMC student, I had to take my Classics major at Scripps and Pomona. You have to go back to the days when CMC was Claremont Men's College -- and that takes us back to the 60s -- for any vestige of a conservative element to the college. I certainly say no hint of it during my time at the Graduate School (1990-92).
Question: How did you survive your time there with your sanity intact? It was a real challenge for me, I can assure you.

I think her husband is named Bill. You might notice that the femi-nazi makes no reference to him in the bio you copied the excerpt from.
A couple professors have told me that she makes Clark Kucheman or Roth look like a conservative.

There was a William Gann who was Dean of Students at Mudd.
I was just curious.
