Ok, I have taken Master's degree courses. I am not stupid. I cant follow all of this.
If you cannot boil it down to three sentences, it wont matter.
Move on to the next one.

Could you kindly summarize this so I can understand who's going to be in deep doodie and who's O.K.? I'm not usually this dense, but I'm not getting it, I suppose.
Thanks,
MS

Yet, can there be a greater intelligence failure than the US administrations alleged inability to monitor the long and extensive proliferation activity under A Q Khan?Hit piece on W via Bush I and Reagan.

Alternative Summary: BCCI was bad enough to involve corruption from both parties (R&D).
Nobody was prosecuted in the whole deal, although the corporation BCCI paid a large fine. Mueller, current FBI leader, was a leading prosecutor in that case.
The whole thing stinks.

Hit piece on W via Bush I and Reagan.
I find it apalling that a member of the media would so blatantly attack our president on an issue that he is clearly not able to effect.
Our choices with Pakistan are thus;
1) Work with them, keep them close, deal with their bad behavior quietly and maybe even without their knowledge.
2) Blow them off the map (maybe later?) 3) Ignore them... not!

Kerry was also much involved in investigating the BCCI scandal that peaked in 1992. In an investigative summary, Kerry and associates concluded that many investigative leads remain to be explored, including the alleged relationship between the late CIA director William Casey and BCCI; the extent of BCCIs involvement in Pakistans nuclear program; BCCIs manipulation of commodities and securities markets in Europe and Canada; the use of BCCI by central figures in the alleged October Surprise; its involvement with foreign intelligence agencies; the financial dealings of BCCI directors with Charles Keating, including the possibility that BCCI related entities may have laundered funds for Keating to move them outside the U.S.; BCCIs financing of commodities and other business dealings of international criminal financier Marc Rich

You may have a Master's degree, but you flunked punctuation.
Here's two apostrophes that you can have free of charge: ' and '.
You're welcome.

Well, if you want to get technical, there was an extra one there in masters that you could have used so there was only a need for one.

You've hit the nail on the head.
Bush II has nothing to do with this.
This writer is stretching, to put it mildly.
This happened when President Bush was still in his cups, following baseball and clueless about the world.
Back in those days days, his only interest in BCCI would have been if he thought it was a brand of beer.
That is not to say tha a lot of prominient people in both parties weren't up to their necks in this.
It's just that now-President Bush wasn't one of them.

Part of the problem with this article is the title.
That being said...............
This seems to be a key paragraph in what the author's trying to get at: "It is quite possible that cassettes containing A Q Khans account of his proliferation going back to 1987, and sent out through his daughter to the UK, may contain not only details of the involvement of Pakistani generals and leaders in the proliferation activities but also information regarding the involvement of the CIA and other leading American personalities with BCCI and its criminal activities and the US permissiveness on Pakistan-Iran nuclear transactions."
The connection to President Bush now, is that information may be revealed about his father's dealings in the whole BCCI mess and the permissiveness of allowing Pakistan and Khan to get away with clandestine nuclear deals. And that any president since, should have watching Khan.
At least I think that's what he's trying to get at.
BCCI and the money laundering is tied in with this mess.
If/when this hits the papers and media airwaves, the public won't know what the heck anyone's talking about.
It will be a confusing jumble of names and dates and incidences that happened 15yrs ago and they'll switch the channel.
If I'm missing any punctuation marks, please feel free to donate any extras you may have. Thank you.
