They also stayed for several nights in Las Vegas and no one has figured out that connection yet either, except for planes averted around the holidays.

Those who are expected to be named include the head of the UN’s oil-for-food programme, the Russian Communist party, the PLO and a French businessman with close links to President Jacques Chirac.

Velveeta started a group for us on Yahoo. Also I've been made the keeper of the e-mails in case of emergency or FR down etc. I have about 20 names now, if you want to be added please freepmail me. Also MamaDearest has suggested we have backups to check in with per area. Like two North/South/East/West. She has volunteered to be the North captain. What do you all think

Not sure whether I saw it on this thread or another one, but I did note the scuba attack in Israel. The pattern I have seen is that the threats & clues we've gleaned from these various posts seem to all refer to things overseas, not the CONUS as we've all speculated. I don't doubt that they'd love to hit us again & are planning to do so, but to date it seems that all the jihadi talk is about other places. I think the next point of concern is Rome over Easter.

DJ Three Oak Ridge Lab Scientists Held For Security Concerns

Dow Jones Newswires

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (AP)--Three foreign nationals who work at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory -- a Bulgarian, a South Korean and a Chinese -- are stranded at a conference in Canada because of security concerns.

The three scientists were red-flagged as potential security risks when they applied for new travel visas at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal, where they were attending a conference of the American Physical Society.

Even though they had valid U.S. work visas for foreign professionals, they were targeted under new Homeland Security guidelines because they do research in sensitive science and technology fields.

Officials said Friday that one of the three scientists could be headed back to Oak Ridge this weekend.

Lee Riedinger, Oak Ridge National Laboratory's deputy director for science and technology, told the Knoxville News Sentinel that Soek Yun of South Korea has been approved for a new travel visa and is expected to board a U.S.-bound flight Sunday.

The other two postdoctoral researchers -- Feng Ye of China and Julian Valez of Bulgaria -- may also get the green light soon, he said.

"That seems to be the body language. There's no guarantee, of course. But the body language is that we should be able to work through these things in an efficient manner," Riedinger said.

The scientists work at ORNL but are employed by Oak Ridge Associated Universities, which arranged the postdoctoral appointments at the federal research lab.

Psychic prompts search of jet in Fort Myers
Associated Press

EXTRA
News Bizarre: For more odd stories see News Bizarre.

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A psychic's warning that a bomb might be on a Dallas-bound passenger jet at Southwest Florida International Airport prompted federal and local officials to search it with bomb-sniffing dogs.

Nothing suspicious was found on American Airlines Flight 1304, but the delay Friday caused the flight to be canceled because some crew members had exceeded their work hours when the search was finished, officials said.

Doug Perkins, the local Transportation Security Administration director, said the psychic's call was "unusual."

"But in these times, we can't ignore anything. We want to take the appropriate measures," he said.

The crew was evacuated from the plane, but none of the 128 passengers had boarded yet, Perkins said.

TSA officials wouldn't say where the call was made from or who it was made to.

An American Airlines spokesman also said the call came from a psychic, but said the company was notified about it by TSA. The passengers were placed on other flights that left later Friday and today.

Also, some of you are Shepard Smith fans, there was a thread earlier today explaining how he does his reports.

LOL

My husband had commented on Mr. Smith's style about a month ago. Funny as it is, it does seem to work. He has more viewers than his competitors and that's how tv is usually judged.

I wonder why we can't hire American workers instead of in-sourcing for sensitive jobs rather than hire foreign nationals with potential terrorist ties. I was appalled last week to read that even the IRS is outsourcing:

The IRS is outsourcing the order entry telephone work in the distribution centers from which the agency mails tax forms, manuals and schedules. The 176 full-time equivalent jobs are people who take orders for the documents. IRS requested to use direct conversion and Styles granted them permission, according to Kelley.

Washington Gas Call Center Reopens After Mysterious Illnesses
Updated: Thursday, Mar. 25, 2004 - 4:49 AM

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (AP) -- The Washington Gas Springfield call center will be open Thursday.
On Wednesday, 39 people complained of shortness of breath, headaches, nausea and dizziness, and 16 were sent to three hospitals for treatment.

About 80 people were evacuated from part of the two-story building on Industrial Road.

Nothing unusual was smelled before the 3:15 p.m. call for help came in.

Authorities say they've ruled out carbon monoxide as the source of the problem.

However, authorities said there was no immediate sign of foul play involved.

Calls to the Springfield call center were rerouted to call-takers in D.C. and Frederick.

One more week to sterilize Cornell

By Violet Law
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Sunday, March 28, 2004

Cornell School District students will stay home for another week until staff completely sterilize a school building where an outbreak of an undetermined illness has sickened 168 people with flu-like symptoms.
"We need the extra time to complete the sterilization process," Superintendent D.J. Johnson said Saturday. "It's very involved and expensive."

School officials had planned to reopen the Coraopolis building complex, which houses kindergarten through the 12th grade, by Wednesday. The school has been closed since students were dismissed Tuesday after the mysterious illness, which first sickened students on March 19, spread to more students. The 168 people infected were mostly elementary students and teachers, with some family members also catching the disease.

Johnson said school officials plan to make up for the missing days by scheduling classes on two Easter vacation days, April 8 and 12, and extending the school year by one week. The district also will reschedule state assessment tests, which students across the state took last week

He will proceed with the use of the nuclear weapon against Islamic states if 'was proved' that 'terrorists' they participated in, assisted in, or had knowledge of an attack on an American or European city by a nuclear weapon or a biological weapon. And the reports mentioned that if an attack case killed thousands of Americans or the Europeans through the work of 'a terrorist', the atom bomb or an Anthrax are used, for example and eliminates a city entirely, the American answer will be nuclear, and instant ..

You got that right little jihadist. Do you feel lucky...well do ya?

PUNK!
