Good Morning Fitz,
Well said.
Not even as much shocking as just disgusting --- a fading pop star trying to get attention for herself (record sales) in front of football fans who didn't go there and bring their kids there to see that.

If we (society and socialists) can continue to raise the taxes on sin items, like cigarettes, etc.
Why can't we fund the FCC on indecency fines?
Vote?
This would make a good question to poll an audience on, no?

LOL!!! Having Stern threaten to quit is like Janet Jackson threatening to put her top back on!

Good Points.
Free speech is the most basic of all rights.
But what should we expect from the government officials who passed CFR into law.

It is about time they cleaned up radio. Now they need to clean up the cable and satellite broadcasts. There are roughly a gazillion Jesus stations on the dial. Is that not enough for you? Does every station have to be a Jesus station for you to be happy? I don't go around attempting to use government to remove the Jesus stations from the airwaves even though I have to scan through them. Is it that hard for you to give the same respect to others?

I'd feel a lot better about this if I didn't hear a song titled "F**k It" 10 times a day on the local teenybopper radio station.

Have never heard Stern on the radio. Once in a while I surf the channels late at night and am horrified at the content of his show.
Is it his radio show broadcast on TV as is IMUS?

his audience of mouth-breathing moronsHi Prince,
This is a common misconception of Stern's audience. The show has a lot of ashamed closeted listeners. You can't judge it by the callers who are the mouth-breathing morons that have time to call in & wait on hold for an hour while 95% of his audience is driving to their well-paying jobs [that aren't exported yet -doh! ;) ]

One can only that these closet Howard Stern fans who have productive jobs can think for themselves and won't mindlessly follow the directives of a miserable, egomaniac.
Also, I am sick of Howard Stern praising himself for being a "pioneer" and "changing the face of radio". The first guy who decided to have sex with sheep was "pioneer" as well who changed the face of sex. Was this guy of any value to society?

The down side to that is?

To: GulliverSwift

The EPA will applaud the end of Howard Stern....the air will be cleaner.

I think you may have slightly over estimated the number of 'Jesus' stations on the radio.
Guess you never learned that the deeper a person and or country falls into the cesspool of the deviate the quicker their true enjoyment of the great things in life no longer mean anything to them.

Why can't we fund the FCC on indecency fines? That would be the worst thing to ever happen. FCC's unelected bureaucrats depending on fines for their salaries......
Goes along with ticket quotas for police.

Also, I am sick of Howard Stern praising himself for being a "pioneer" and "changing the face of radio". Yeah. Ha. Howard the Comedic Genius.
Ive never heard a single bit on his show that I didnt hear somewhere else before - and usually done better. Very predictable and tedious.
People were doing farting shows, drinking shows, nude guest shows all of it prior to Stern ever doing it. Moby & Matthews were doing stuff like that in 1975 which was back when I was younger and dumber and it was more entertaining.
Im surprised he doesnt have multiple lines to his studio named West of the Rockies, East of the Rockies, First time caller line, and the Wildcard line. Thats about how creative he is.

Oh, we should be so lucky.
