You said

Is there anything in the Bible that quotes God as saying "Unless they kill my son, forget about Jesus holding any special sort of reverence"?

How about this.

1 John 2:1-2 ...we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Sacrifice means "die", it doesn't mean just give up something for lent.

***Is there anything in the Bible that quotes God as saying "Unless they kill my son, forget about Jesus holding any special sort of reverence"?****

There is just too much! Here is a few.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man,Hebrews 2:9-10

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us, for if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your concience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:12-14

Let us run with pattience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despised the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
who did not sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: reviled not again; when he suffered, he threaatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously,
Who in his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteoussness: by whose stripes we are healed.
1 Peter 2:21-24
And who can forget this!
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up;
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in his should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:14-16

For to this end Christ both died and rose, and revived, that he might be the Lord of both the dead and living.
Romans 14:9
There are too many others to point out.

But when you look at by the number that Soviet communists killed per minute, it's less than 2 per minute. It doesn't sound so bad.

(THAT'S TWO EVERY FRICKIN MINUTE!)

Hard to believe but it is in fact the real basis of the entire faith. Of course, the Resurrection is the other pillar. IMHO it takes most of us a long time to get our minds around the first part, if we ever do. The second part is a sheer act of faith.

Such a delightfully intelligent woman like Ann is not long on these lands. Look for a horrible plane "incident" any day now.

Ann is beautiful, truthful, and very brave. She knows the enemy and blows their brains out.

I fear for her. The devil's menions have got to stop her.

In the entire 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition, about 30,000 people were killed.

Where'd she get that. The Spanish Inquisition lasted for a thousand years, and the number of deaths were about 3,000.

"The only religion that can be constantly defamed and insulted is the one liberals pretend to be terrified of."

Yes, we must hate nasty Christianses, mustn't we, My Precious?

Of course, the original text is no excuse in Hollywood. The villains of Tom Clancy's book "The Sum of All Fears" were recently transformed from Muslim terrorists to neo-Nazis for the movie version.

And the villains of John Grisham's book "Runaway Jury" were changed from Big Tobacco to Firearms Manufacturers in the movie.

Where'd she get that. The Spanish Inquisition lasted for a thousand years, and the number of deaths were about 3,000.

A second variety of the Inquisition was the infamous Spanish Inquisition, authorized by Pope Sixtus IV in CV1478. Pope Sixtus tried to establish harmony between the inquisitors and the ordinaries, but was unable to maintain control of the desires of Ki ng Ferdinand V and Queen Isablella. Sixtus agreed to recognize the independence of the Spanish Inquisition. This institution survived to the beginning of the 19th century, and was permanently suppressed by a decree on July 15, 1834.

****************************

Lets see. 1834 - 1478 = Tada! 356

Anything else?

Powerful stuff:

Despite repeated suggestions from liberals -- including the in-house "conservative" and Clinton-supporter at the Times -- Hitler is not what happens when you gin up Christians. Like Timothy McVeigh (news - web sites), the Columbine killers and the editorial board of The New York Times, Hitler detested Christians.

Indeed, Hitler denounced Christianity as an "invention of the Jew" and vowed that the "organized lie (of Christianity) must be smashed" so that the state would "remain the absolute master." Interestingly, this was the approach of all the great mass murderers of the last century -- all of whom were atheists: Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot.
