Much more recent and authentic studies in England, France, and Germany indicate the 2% ballpark range.
I do not have links to these studies, but someone here surely must.

Exactly my fear - why is it that people don't see that??? - I hate being ridiculed for the fact that this issue really bothers me. I get the old standy "how does this affect you?" The very future of my children is at stake. Something personal and scary - two of "them" have my neices and nephews as foster children. And no-one raises an eyebrow that my 5 yr old neice now looks and acts like a boy. "It's just a phase" These women can't have their own children so they snatch my extended family!! Oh, and lock us out, too - don't want any moral influence, you know...

What I have always felt, and believed is that God's love is all inclusive. Nevermind if homosexuality is a choice or genetic, it does not matter. Picking and choosing who one loves and hates is a characteristic of kids on a playground, not of a forgiving God who is capable of creating whole universes. I prefer to give Him more credit than to associate juvenile characteristics to His love. I do understand that some of you worry about your children; how homosexuality will affect them. For me, I want nothing more for my children than to show them how to be kind and generous people. What kind of precedent do I set if they see that I hate someone because of how they live their life? I'm not saying that those of you opposed to homosexuality are bad parents. In truth, the fact that you care enough to have a hand in what your children learn is proof enough that your child is better off than most. What I am saying is this: In a time where there are those who hate America and all it represents, where there are those who hate Bush for sending us to war, where there are those who hate Democrats for being too liberal, where there are those who hate each other based on race, religion, and political views, I have nothing left but love. Is there a more powerful message than to show my children that I can still love my fellow man when so much hatred clouds the world around me?

To disagree with you or homosexual marriage evidently labels one a "hater".

God is rather clear about hating the sin and loving the sinner. Enablers do nobody any favors.

To embrace homosexual "marriage" is not a Godly act, at least not the God of my Bible. Hating homosexuals is likewise not a Godly act, hating the sin is.

Invoking God to defend that which God calls an abomination is disingenuous.

I hope you will at least return to read my post. I don't know what made you think hate is involved in this. The institution of marriage between a man and a woman is supposed to sacred but this has been eroded over the years and means little to a lot of people. I am still looking at the idea of a civil union but not sure what it should be. Surely you can understand the confusion and rejection concerning this matter. Think how much more tied up the courts will be with disputes and divorces. I have gay friends and on cousin who is gay and most have been with the same partner for a long time but do trade partners more than anyone else I know. I also lost a cousin to aides. I can't discuss it here but believe me I do not hate gays. There is a big difference between hate and being against gay marriage. I try to save my hate for people like Saddam and bin Laden. Surely you don't care if I hate them. He he! Lighten up.I pray God blesses every day of your life.

Pathetic pablum I'm afraid is what you are posted, from beginning to end. I say that as a supporter of gay marriage, provided it is enacted via the public square exercising its will, rather than by judicial fiat. You cannot seem to understand that those who disagree with your views (particularly the spread the love, and love everybody stuff), are not ipso facto "haters." To the extent you are on my "team," I would have to characterize you as ballast.
