Right! They cannot "definitively" date it. But I found in every documentary I've watched, that the scientists cannot DISPROVE it's authenticity either!
They always say it is a very distinct possibility that the shroud is REAL!

I've seen it, I've seen the 3D effects as well. Incredible.
But while carbon dating isn't exact, it's pretty good at giving a rough date, within a couple hundred years. That's still a millenium after Christ walked the Earth.

It's real. We both agree. Having watched documentaries on this for over a decade, and seen the evidence. It is *indeed* real. It is amusing to watch scientist try so hard to debunk the evidence.. but they just can't.

The coating was explained in a documentary too. Seems a preservative was put on by some "well meaning" team. So sorry "theDentist". But people in the "know", know the facts. I just don't have a photographic memory. Sorry!

The three "D" visual effects were truly amazing. And yes, that was where they addressed the plastic coating. You may remember then how it got on the shroud, do you? I don't at the moment.
Right now while this movie out would be a great time for a re-run! I wish they'd show it again! How great would that be?

"IF" you are talking to "me",.. then you missed the point of my whole message, or did not read "my" message after the thread post.
I'm "addressing" the concerns of the "critics" who say this movie is to violent. I'm saying that what happened to Jesus WAS violent. But JESUS FORGAVE HIS PERSECUTORS!! Those who brutalized Him!!!! WHO CRUCIFIED HIM. And HE DID SO AS HE WAS DYING ON THE CROSS AND SUFFERING.
You did understand that .. right?

Not sure there is anyone to compare. But you never know. And they can determine a lot about who it came from (heritage, etc). Sorry, I'm not fully versed in DNA science, but we could learn much I think.

I don't know why Christians want so much to find the "Holy Zinger of Proof" to smack the heathens. Maybe it's easier than showing love?
