Need you post that graphic with every post. If everyone did that, this forum would slow to a snails pace.

It really ticks you off, huh newbie?

Let JimRob worry about the bandwidth issues. If he wanted it stopped...he'd stop it. Besides, Sabertooth is more than enough of a contributor here that he gets a pass.

Now quit yer yammerin' ye lilly livered, land lubber. Arrrh...

Wow...that picture is reminiscent of the photos of 2000 I referred to.

Always lots of American flags, happy smiling faces, good vibes.

So different from the dem rallies...

Good to see it happening again.

What college?

You are not going to like this...University of Michigan. I know a lot of conservatives wouldn't send their child to Michigan, but I wouldn't trade the experience or the education for the world.

Hah! My folks went to U of M.

I, on the other hand, went to the bastion of conservative academia known as Cal.

Dang, I missed it. I'll watch the replay of Brit's show.

Thanks for telling me.

You know, I really believe CA is in play. If we could only isolate San Francisco and Oakland.

Just posted the following on a thread entitled Don't Underestimate Conservative Discontent. It's worth posting here, too.

Best joke of the day. In the California primary, the favorite son of all those “discontented conservatives” — you know, all those “real” conservatives who expound daily about their disgust for GWB here on FR — finished fourth behind Bill Jones, all other candidates, and Rosario Marin. Howard Kaloogian could only muster 11.1% of the vote.

Bill Jones received, 893,313 votes, or 44.6%
All others, 486,702, or 24.2%
Rosario Marin, 402,526, or 20.1%
Howard Kaloogian, 221,150, or 11.1%

Total votes in Rep. Senate primary: 2,003,691

In contrast, in the Republican presidential primary, President George W. Bush received 1,951,158 votes even though his was the only name on the ballot. That’s only 52,533 fewer total votes than the total for all Republican senate candidates. In other words, even most of Mr. Kaloogian’s voters also voted for GWB in the uncontested primary. That tiny fraction who voted in the senate primary but declined to vote in the presidential primary marginalized themselves.

For further contrast, in a Democrat presidential primary with 10 names on the ballot, the Dems could only muster 2,740,023 votes statewide, just 788,865 more than the total the president received even though his name was the only one on the Republican presidential ballot.

Remember, this is California, a state Kerry is expected to win handily in November. This is California, home of the quintessential disgruntled conservative. This is California, where GWB supposedly is not popular; where he did not campaign before the primary; where the news media has been largely negative toward him, especially recently over the gay marriage issue.

So, when one “goes inside the numbers,” this is actually a remarkably positive primary result for President Bush.

About the California primary results, see my #109 on this thread. Much more positive than each of you seem to believe.

There is a bunch of kids who will never forget this day

You are right about that! I'll never forget the day I shook hands with President Reagan as a Cub Scout. It really did change me.

re. SS

Certainly this location was staked out, just as certainly it was "unscheduled." That'd be the only way to run it.

Those people were there because they knew the President would drive by. That's part of the game -- the President wants those people to be there. They're there everywhere he goes. It's another dimension that the SS ever has to deal with. A WH press corps reporter told me that he is amazed by the lines of people who will wait for hours and in any weather along an expected route just for a quick glimpse of the President's automobile.

The job done by the SS is amazing. What a job to have, and what a job they do! I've been through letters and notes of SS agents back in the 1910s, and even then they were more thorough in prep work than you can imagine.

Bush gave this crowd a life experience.

You're welcome.

Also don't miss both Fred and Mort, (especially Fred), shred the dems whining about President Bush's new ads.

Oh, and Brit reveals...the firefighters that are complaining about them? They are the group that endorsed Kerry a month or so ago and have been campaigning with him ever since!

I love Brit!!!

Classy move on Bush's part(good PR as we say in public affairs), he needs to do more of this more often since normal Americans are at ease around him. I hope to see more of this soon.

Your words are very true...one's intensity won't help much unless they get involved with the grass roots part of the local campaigns. Once I lived in a kommie district in the Seattle area, but we had a fanatically-Republican precinct leader. This guy worked his tail off and did things right. His precinct was among the very few in the whole county that went Republican. If every area had that kind of dedication going on, imagine what could happen.
