unwatchable due to its poor quality, or because of its graphic nature. And I think the reason a 13 and 15 year old didnt have to turn at certain parts is because of desensitization.. they didnt see the difference between what they were watching and any game or some "action" movie.

I'm sorry that you didn't understand the film. The quality of the production was amazingly good.

The Book was better, but the film is darn good.

Not a good idea to take the tyke there, at least until she can understand the gospel story as told by the bible.

You can bet that the liberal media will be having a field day with reports from school "counselors" and the like reporting on how kids are getting nightmares from this.

Never say never; please do not close the Holy Spirit out of your life, because there will be no other way out of sin. The hideousness was the logical outcome of suffering. The hideousness was undergone by God willingly. Nobody forced God to do this - He being omnipotent could have refused. God did not refuse.

Blessings on her that she made it through OK.

I remember the first gory movie I saw, maybe I was 6 years old. Didn't gross me out as much, now that I think to remember, as I would fear for a child as an adult. Indians in battle were chopping their enemies' backs with tomahawks. Ketchup city. It bugged me enough to ask my mom about it (I knew nothing about movie making and thought they actually DID that to the actor), though no nightmares.

Cabin Boy was not just unfunny, it was anti-funny. The worst comedy ever.

There is no "anti-Semitism" anywhere in the film. Nobody is going to be driven to *HATE* by this meditation on Christ's *LOVE*.

I agree. I saw it finally last night....the graphic portrayal of the torture Christ endured is unspeakable; however, it was NOT done for the "glory" of being graphic. As you said, it was a factual representation of His suffering....unbelievably cruel at the hands of the Roman soldiers. How anyone can say that this movie portrays the Jews in a bad light is beyond me; if anything, it portrays the Italians (i.e., the Roman soldiers) in a bad light.

When I was six, I was terrorized by the white puppet abominable snowman with teeth in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Additionally, the flying monkeys in "The Wizard of Oz" gave me nightmares for a month.

Please don't bring a six-year old to see The Passion.
