Do you really feel certain, however, about all those deep within the CIA, or those at the fringes? The specialists in covert action will do their shtick; they always do.
only part of the cia is charged with intelligence and so should be scrupulously apolitical.
the rest of the cia is charged with covert action - psychological, military, and financial trickery aimed at a political goal.
the people who do this always have a wide net of connections with others of a similar bent who are not cia employees. it is a shady world.
the great secrecy of the operations permits the goals of their trickery frequently to be combined with personal goals.
