"It's like the soldiers dropping dead last summer from atypical pneumonia -- that one was not widely known either."

==

I remember that, now that you mention it.

What concerns me is not just that some soldiers have been taken ill, although that is reason for concern, but that they actually closed down 4 bases for weeks on account of it. That is not an action they would take lightly.

Yep, the base closures are what drew my attention as well. It's one way to cause havoc, for sure.

I emailed this article to a relative who is at Patch Barracks in Sttugart (USEUCOM). Here is his reply:

"It's amazing how the press can screw stuff up. We haven't heard of this and it isn't anywhere close to us. In fact this doesn't have anything to do with U.S. bases; these are German bases south of Kassel where we haven't had troops in years. The EUCOM Surgeon works two floors down and he hasn't said anything about this either."

I've 3 giant pics of GWB with a 15ft nose, or something like that. Also, a piles of FReepMail spam a few days ago, and another one or two today. Junk's piling-up; time for some serious housecleaning. Where'd I park my backhoe?

Yikes! I've got 4, too. I went over to My Mail, then clicked on My Comments, and all 4 have red X's instead of pics. Maybe one of the mods can do something about it. I'm pretty new here and still feeling my way around the place. Sorry.

Double Yikes! The pics are back after going back to the original thread. Now I'm really confused.
