Well, here it is ...the backlash. In the People's Republic of Massachussettes, of all things.
Good!
Yay!

Please forgive my pessimism if it seems untoward, but it seems to me that the Will of The People no longer matter to those behind the judicial tyranny we are now fighting.
I'm beginning to think that the judiciary should no longer have the final say in any matter. It has become drunk with power...and it is damaging the very society it *was* sworn to protect.

The poll also found that an overwhelming majority of those surveyed wanted the voters, not the courts or the Legislature, to define marriage in Massachusetts, through a statewide ballot question to amend the constitution. And it indicated significant support for civil unions. It's nice to see that the people from Massachusetts are starting to wake up to what the courts are doing .. but at the same time they fail to take responsibility for voting these activists legislatures and judges into the positions they are in now.

The boston globe is making a lateral attack!
They are trying to say most oppose but so what. They are trying to say this is not a deal breaker election issue.
I have news for the Globe.
THIS ISSUE IS A DEAL BREAKER.
Support homosexual marriage and LOSE VOTES!

The boston globe is making a lateral attack!Hell the Wall Street Journal had editorials about "gay marriage" back in the fall of 1988 when Dukaka was running for President. Several editorials some by guest writers talked about potential Dukaka appointments to SCOTUS. They said both Susan Estrich (Dukaka's campaign manager) and Laurence Tribe both supported the right of homosexuals to marry each other based on tht 14th amendment. I had never even heard of the concept prior to reading those editorials. For that matter nobody talked about it till the Clinton administration.

These poll fluctuations just point out that a federal constitutional ammendment is absolutely the *wrong* solution.

Reread the article and it does not support your conclusion.
[e.g. those polled (friends of the Boston Globe admittedly) say it does NOT belong in the courts.]

A majority of Massachusetts residents said they oppose legalizing gay marriage...But the Robed Masters care little about what the commoners want. THEIR will, not the people's will, is what matters.

the survey of 400 adults has a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points.Fairly useless poll. If it was 400 registered voters...
BTW, if this ever does come to a vote in Mass, you can bet your sweet patootie that every gay, lesbian, transgendered, transfatty acid, whatever, who can crawl will go to the polls. The opposition needs to be just as dedicated and thorough, and now they seem to be split 3 or 4 ways. Not good...
