That's just BS. Jones has as much support among conservative organizations as Kaloogian, PLUS support from the rest of the party. Jones also kills Kaloogian in the polls among self-described conservatives.
The CRA, which I'm sure you worship, was split between Jones and Kaloogian.
Kaloogian has 10 conservative leaders and organizations supporting him to every 1 that Jones has.
If you go back and compare those who have endorsed Dick Riordan vs. those who are endorsing Jones you will find that - especially comparing the congressional delegation - they are very similar.
So the difference is Kaloogian can't win.
The difference is that if Jones "wins" than the Republicans credability is further hurt. Jones will do nothing but make the majority of people who support the concepts Kooligan stands for turn off of politics. Who wants to hear some dorky Republican say things similar to the other side of the aisle?
Jones is the kind of dithering, boring Country Club Republican candidate that makes Independents change the channel on politics.
That's both impressive for Jones and disappointing.
Impressive because Kaloogian is more conservative than Jones so CRA would be more philosophically like Kaloogian.
Disappointing because the main reason for Steve Frank and Jim Camp being hired was for drills exactly like CRA... but no matter how much wooing they did, the Jones campaign could not secure an endorsement for Jones from CRA because he just isn't the reliable type of conservative they support.
Jones comes with Dreier, Radanovich, and Issa, Kaloogian counters with nothing.
Kaloogian comes with Gann and BAMPAC, Jones counters with Howard Jarvis and National Asian Republican Coalition and National Korean-American Republican Association.
Jones comes with Oller and Strickland, Kaloogian counters with McClintock and Mountjoy.
Kaloogian comes with national figures like Schlafly, Weyrich, Dobson, and Tancredo, Jones counters with California bigwigs from all over the state, like Ward Connerly.
Kaloogian has the Young Republican Federation of San Diego, Jones has the California Young Republicans.
Kaloogian has 3 taxpayer organizations endorsing him. Jones bought HJTA at the last minute as part of the "YES on 57/58" package with Schwarzenegger.
You left off Jack Kemp, Bruce Herschensohn, Phyllis Schlafly, Dr. James Dobson, Gun Owners of America, Eagle Forum, Congressman Tom Tancredo, Concerned Women for America, Prop 187 Author Ron Prince, Republican Liberty Caucus, Paul Weyrich, Morton Blackwell, The Madison Project... oh hey, I'll just give you the link to make it easier for you:
Kaloogian Endorsed By Conservative Republican Leaders - CLICK HERE
I had not seen your sentence of:
"Kaloogian comes with national figures like Schlafly, Weyrich, Dobson, and Tancredo, Jones counters with California bigwigs from all over the state, like Ward Connerly."
I had not scrolled down far enough to see you make that point. I would still suggest Kaloogian outdoes Jones in national conservative leadership.
Read this week's Human Events or William Rusher's column in World Net Daily today.
And you would be right.
LOL
'nuff said.
Hey Stone Cold...What do you think of that?
Bravo much???
I think it comic! Nay, actually I think it tragic. David was once a great congressman. Then the GOP took over, he got a taste of real power, and become one of the "good old boys". Now he's a rubber stamp for the White House.
A lot of Republicans are upset with Drieier over illegal immigration and trade. He even has a challenger in the GOP primary. I found this today on that very subject: Sardo Sounds Off on Immigration, Trade (and blasts Dreier)
Let's go over this:
1. You allege that conservatives support Kaloogian and not Jones
2. I show very clearly that your assertion is crap.
3. You can't argue the point -- because your claim had no basis in fact, you just decided to spout off -- so you quibble with the conservative credentials of ONE of the people I mentioned.
Can't ANY of the Kaloogian supporters address the issue honestly? You people disgust me.
Yup. Conservatives tend to evoke that emotion in liberals.
One of the beauties of being conservative is not worrying to much about how liberals feel.
We just assume they are going to be angry and upset most all of the time. It's their nature.
Do you read anything people say to you? Why on earth should I restate what was eloquently said by others?
I think it has been proven that Howard is supported by hard-line Conservatives, and Jones by the "squishes".
Arnold? Pete Wilson? Those are conservatives?
You lost the argument, and don't have the common sense to back down.
The facts are louder than your rhetoric!
I would assert that conservatives supporting Jones is the exception, not the rule.
As was posted by someone earlier, Dick Riordan was endorsed by a number of conservatives who thought he was the 'best' candidate to run against Davis. Some have again made that argument about Jones being the 'best' to run against Boxer.
I'll agree with William Rusher (publisher of National Review for decades. Here's how he describes the layout of the land as it relates to Kaloogian in his column that's been published in Human Events and at World Net Daily:
But that leaves a fourth contender, whom conservative Republicans have rallied around.
He is Howard Kaloogian, a former assemblyman from the San Diego area, who played a key role in launching the recall effort that toppled Democratic Gov. Gray Davis. He has received endorsements from an impressive number of leading conservatives, both in California and at the national level. - the emphasis added is by ME not by Rusher... FYI

Now on the issue of Kaloogian people disgusting you... well I hope not. Because if Jones wins we'll have to work together to beat Boxer. And if Kaloogian wins we'll need you and other Jones' supporters ourselves.
Don't worry, the Schwarzenegger people disgusted me too. ("McClintock's career is finished" - what the hell is that supposed to mean?") IMO, way too many CaliFReepers carry around a shank stabbing anyone to their right -- or left, depending on what side they start on.
Like I said, I'm voting for Burr, but I would like to see y'all nominate the most conservative electable. I appreciate that you have the "fighter" argument but I disagree.
