Koch is an old fashioned socialist. Thinks the government is the answer.

He did support Rudy and he does support President Bush, for which we should be thankful.

Some elderly jewish voters may take his comments to heart and vote for Dubya too.

Koch is sooo funny. I wish he said that about Hillary too.

Actually, Koch said later in that same interview that he would work hard to elect Hillary in 08. Also later in that show, Gulliani was a very good spokesman for GWB.

Yes, they were punished. I remember sitting in Yankee Stadium (no, I am not a YANKEE fan) with my hubby when they announced that David Dinkins was there as well to watch the game.....LOL, they booed him loudly (including me). He was a scum who treated the cops like crap and kissed the rear ends of the criminals. Rudolph changed that when he became mayor and he did a good job.

He has said, on earlier Hannity shows, that he will vote for Bush because none of the current crop of Dems seem to understand what's at stake re nat'l security. While not as forthright as saying he's disgusted with them, I think he came across as exactly that.

I think Wesley Clark is insane, and Howard Dean is on the edge.

I think it was Krauthammer who wrote that Howard Dean is a sane man pretending to be mad; Wesley Clark is a mad man pretending to be sane.

I am sure he will have alot to say about them. Koch is never one to not say what he thinks.

He was sugarcoating it: Al Gore is insane. The loss of the election just pushed him over the edge.

If algore had done a Nixon, conceeded after the first recount, he would be a shoe-in for the nomination. The dems would have all their "we won the popular vote" rhetoric, plus a small bit of self respect.

Gore did this to himself.

Koch said he'd be happy to address the convention, but only if he was allowed to point out his differences with Bush on domestic issues.

No thanks, we've heard enough from the pro-gay marriage crowd.

Can someone from NY inform me as to how much pull Koch has in the state. Is it something, coupled with Rudy, that could swing the state to Bush?

Ed supported Gore in 1988, saying that anyone Jewish who supported Jesse Jackson was nuts.

I'd let him speak at the convention. The fact that he has differences with Dubya in domestic policy doesn't matter -- there are Freepers that have differences with Dubya over domestic policy! But he's backing Dubya for President, so I say this: BRING. HIM. ON.

Same goes for Zell Miller. Same goes for anyone else backing Dubya over Kerry (or whatever 'Rat is nominated). We need to win in 2004.

Koch has one great love: New York City. That's all you need to know about him. That's why he will look beyond party lines. The destruction of the towers touched him so personally, that he rationally wants to fight the bad guys. It's nice to see a politician who puts priniciple above party.

If he wants to talk at the convention, that's nice. Doesn't hurt to hear his alternative domestic ideas. I'd like to know what they are? Does he want to give double the cash to the poor that Bush wants to give? What actually separates this Democrat from that Republican?

I can remember David Letterman making fun of Dinkins when Dinkins was mayor, always cracking a joke about the high crime rate in NYC, and said that crime always went down in the dead of winter because criminals were staying out of the cold. The drop in the high crime rate is just but one other facet of the successful mayoral stewardship of Rudy.

I remember when he was interviewed on FOX News just days after 9/11, Ed Koch said that he was in one of the towers the morning of the attacks and nearly lost his life. 9/11 changed his perspective in more ways than one.

Gore did this to himself.

I think this is interesting. Gore will go down in history as the guy who won the popular vote, lost the election, and went on to be irrelevant. There is one more thing he could become famous for: I hold out hope he will be the guy who takes on Hillary in 08, and it gets ugly.

My guess is he's working as an inside player to the nationwide Democratic Party, in much the same capacity as those like the Clintons and the mob boss Mario Cuomo.

I remember Bob Grant making fun of Dinkins by referring to him as the "restroom attendant at the Waldorf" or something like that. Say what want about Koch's politics, but as a person, he's a class act. He always says what he feels and if you disagree, his classic response is "that's allowed and that doesn't make you a bad person." I've met him several times and what sticks in mind is how tall he is.
