There is a pretty good series of stories about John Kerry at boston.com. I'll have to find the link. John Kerry's grandparents came here and went to Chicago. After a few years there, they moved to some town in Massachusetts, coincidentally two blocks away from the Kennedys. There is sure more to the story of his grandfather walking into a popular hotel bathroom and shooting himself. ala Vince Foster.

John Kerry's mother was a Forbes, living in southern France (I think) when the Germans invaded. John Kerry's parents preferred Europe to the United States. And they apparently passed their socialist European preferences on to their son. Except, of course, aristocratic Europeans much prefer everyone else live the socialist life. They are to have all the privilege of wealth and social standing that the little people are too ignorant to handle. As with all Third Way types, "equality for all, special privilege for none. except for them."

Kennedy's sailboat etc. Massachusetts is very liberal state but has had very few Jewish state wide office holders. So he kept his Jewishness well hid. Psychological conflict. His brother Cameron decided to be 100% Jewish (converted I presume) after he married a Jewish woman

I know a number of Jews name(d) John. John, or Yochanan was a Hebrew name well before a certain carpenter was born in Bethlehem.
There have been a few famous Yochanan's. Rabbi Yohanan ben Zakhai, who created the academe and Sanhedrin at Yavneh, comes to mind. Their were two Hasmonean High Priests/Kings named John (known to the Greeks and Romans as Hyracnious I and II.)

Yes, that's true, and no doubt his Brahmin mama emphasized the privileged English part of his heritage. So why does he claim Irishness (like the furniture stores do on 3/17) and suddenly "discover" grandpa on his Dad's side in time to show solidarity with the Jews. The chameleon theory works for me. I don't care what he is, just be honest. Oh wait, dishonest is what he is, honestly. My brain is starting to cramp.
