Even non-California residents can make campaign contributions to Howard Kaloogian.
Please do and help him to win the Republican nomination to defeat Barbara Boxer and replace her with a Conservative!!!

The pro-Howard plug from Rusher:
But that leaves a fourth contender, whom conservative Republicans have rallied around.
He is Howard Kaloogian, a former assemblyman from the San Diego area, who played a key role in launching the recall effort that toppled Democratic Gov. Gray Davis. He has received endorsements from an impressive number of leading conservatives, both in California and at the national level. State Sen. Tom McClintock, the solidly conservative Republican who impressed just about everybody in the debates among the gubernatorial candidates, is in his corner. So is Bruce Herschensohn, Boxer's opponent back in 1992. At the national level, he has been endorsed by Lew Uhler, chairman of the National Tax Limitation Committee, Jack Kemp, Phyllis Schlafly and Paul Weyrich.
The reason isn't hard to find. Kaloogian is a battler for conservative principles. He calls for lower taxes, including an end to the death tax, higher pay for the military, and more concern for national security. He plans to support President Bush "most of the time," but frankly disagrees with his proposal to make it easier for illegal aliens to work here and become citizens.
If California Republicans decide they want a candidate who will really tangle with Boxer, Howard Kaloogian is ready to oblige. Mr. Rusher is a Distinguished Fellow of the Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship and Political Philosophy.

Kaloogian probably won't even win the primary. Republicans will nominate Rosario Marin, thinking that a pro-abortion candidate will neutralize Boxer's attacks. Yet look at how Boxer deftly painted the pro-abortion Matt Fong as a "anti-choice extremist" during the 1998 campaign. Not only did Fong alienate conservatives, but he lost all those soccer mommies and career women who he thought his pro-aborton views would attract.

Am I to understand that William Rusher supports both Props 56 and 57?

Rosario Marin was in dead last in the latest polling. Jones and Kaloogian were duking it out for first place (with Jones in front) Casey and Marin were battling out to see who would break 5%.
It's Kaloogian or Jones.

As one who supported Arnold over McClintock, I fully back Howard Kaloogian.

Well, I read it twice and can't tell. He more reports on the situation. He does say "score one for Arnold" but he doesn't imply whether that is good or bad.

Not only did Fong alienate conservatives, but he lost all those soccer mommies and career women who he thought his pro-aborton views would attract." This has been a point Kaloogian makes. Herschensohn who is decidely conservative and pro-life did better against Boxer than Fong who was more moderate and pro-choice.
Boxer's MO is to paint ANY Republican as extremist.
Marin keeps saying she won't be tagged that way. But when Boxer spends her millions on TV ads with dark and scary pictures of Gray Davis and the words Prop 187 and Marin - and how Marin toed the line for Wilson, it won't matter.
Marin will sound apologetic and defensive. And that won't work.
To beat Boxer you have to match her attack for attack and outdo her on invective and nastiness. Howard's just the guy for this job.

Great news on the poll. It does not surprise me that Kaloogian is surging and just about caught Jones.
Voters are crying out for someone to speak out on the issues, whether it is illegal immigration, excessive government spending and borrowing or maintaining a strong national defense.
Kaloogian is the only candidate who speaks clear enough that you can tell what he really means. Voters find that refreshing in contrast to the normal mush-mouthed pronouncements from Republicans.

Wow, Kaloogian is almost ahead? I'd say the nomination is almost his. It doesn't look like Jones will get anywhere, and the base isn't hot to Rosario Marin.
