They were hot only about this war. About American and other foreign lives being lost. About non Weapons of Mass Destruction hysteria slowly osmosing into the well-Saddam's-a-bad-dude-so-it's-right-we-took-him-down-anyway philosophy. That is pure left-wing spin. Bush from Day #1 talked about several reasons for war including Iraq's violation of peace agreements, human rights violations, and Saddam's support of terrorists. Bush's aeguements haven't morphed at all.
To: paulat
These are just the noseless 'conservatives' who are willing to vote for socialist Democrats over some single issue or other. |
To: paulat
I think Cindy is trying to convince herself and her readers that John Kerry will win.

I'm sure there are plenty in the circles Cindy runs in (Rockefeller Republicans?).
I'd file this in the same category as the NY socialite who couldn't believe Nixon won because no one she knew voted for him. Of all the issues that Republicans can and should be irritated with Bush about, the war in Iraq rates about 20th in legitimacy. I'd lend the gossip columnists' revelation a bit more credence if she stated that her GOP friends (really, do we believe they exist?) were irate about the explosion in government spending under Bush.
But that wouldn't dovetail with her politics, would it?

Hmm. I don't hear that here in Texas.
Borrowing a word from John FakeKennedy Kerry: "It's just f-ing Iraq. Who gives a f-ing "insert word of choice here".

These articles are right on schedule. As the election draws closer look for many articles to model supposed conservatives who are going to not vote because the GOP is not conservative enough.
Note that these articles come from publications and reporters who care nothing for conservatism and otherwise do not cover conservative issues at all, except when they get the chance to suppress Repub voter turnout. (This is the 'Moby' method of voter turnout suppression.)

You are the closest to what I thought...I was just curious.

"He was told: "Just don't vote."
So these Repubs are telling other Repubs - don't vote?
Good of Cindy to share 'the voice'/spread the word.
That would be the Dems best hope that Repubs just say NO and stay home.

Do you think many Republicans feel this way?Hell no. They're not stupid enough to cede control of the war and this country to liberals with a death wish.

"These are just the noseless 'conservatives' who are willing to vote for socialist Democrats over some single issue or other." Let's see...
Massive spending, intrusive government, counterproductive war, unchecked immigration, failure to find his veto pen, etc.
Guess I'm a single-issue guy after all.

ANTI-WAR GOPERS I misread the last word and thought she was talking about a former POTUS and his supporters.

"This is pure left-wing spin".
For sure; including the "Don't pick on me. Me, I make no comment. Me, I just report" bullitsky.
Parse, spin, lie and report and of course repeat all, as often as necessary, is their game.
Cindy scores a 'l0' here for hitting all the buttons.
