It use to be a joke...funny...every time Kerry ended or began one of speeches with.."I served in Viet Nam". It's not funny any more. Not the least bit funny. There was a method to his madness....and I do mean madness!

I'm re-watching this lying turd now, I'm going to find out who the Adjudant General or General's that was/were serving in the Texas Air National Guard in 1997 and contact them if I can. When that story first broke, there was a freeper who said he was stationed at Camp Mabry, where Burkett says he was when this "record trashing" happened in 1997, and said that Burkett was never stationed there.

"And Kerry did the right thing and went; Bush didn't." This smuck on MSNBC tells Matthews just now! What did Chrissy say? Remember, he was in the Peace Corps in those days.
To: NYCVirago
He said absolutely NOTHING.
I wonder how Matthews feel when the Dems come on and talk about Bush "avoiding Vietnam" by going in the National Guard. He didn't even do that. And that fat Tim Russert has yet to give an explanation of why he didn't "serve" in some capactiy.
I have to say that Barry McCaffrey stood up for Bush and give Matthews the facts on serving in the Guard.

All Military records are not archived in the base where one serves, they are sent to St. Louis or Colorado. There is no way GWB's records would be at Camp Mabry in 1997, I recently requested my late Father's Military Records from St. Louis, I need them to put together a Medals Plaque and scrap book in his memory to give my two older brothers, I was told that all records are never kept at the Bases he served, they are immediately sent to be archived and only copies are kept at the base and only as long as that soldier is stationed there, When a Soldier gets his next orders, the records go with him.
My father kept very good records and he had most of his records in their original form in a 50 year old binder. This gut Burkett is a bald face liar

I think you're absolutely right. But the media thinks any crackpot spouting an anti-Bush screed must be listened to.
To: PhiKapMom
I'm curious .. do people here on FR really think Kerry will be able to spin this the way Clinton did and get away with it ..??
I've heard from Rush that certain people within the media don't like Kerry, and Rush seems to think the media will turn on him at the first opportunity. However, since a lot of the media have had this info re the intern for several months and have not released it .. I'm concerned we're going to have another Clinton type of "let's see how we can fool them today".
Maybe I'm missing it, but I personally think that if the dems try this again .. people will no longer tolerate it. I'm basing this on the overwhelming response at the superbowl sleeze show.

And that fat Tim Russert has yet to give an explanation of why he didn't "serve" in some capactiy. They should all have to explain themselves -- remember the Clintonian rule, that you can never attack him for anything if you so much as jaywalked! And by the way, Dick Gephardt was in the Missouri National Guard in the Vietnam War. How did the milkman's son get into the guard -- according to all these libs, you'd think that the guard was only for the rich and powerful!
I have to say that Barry McCaffrey stood up for Bush and give Matthews the facts on serving in the Guard.
I'm surprised and pleased that he did that. Part of the problem with this non-story story is that the reporters know so little about how the military works, and so every tidbit of info looks sinister to them.

He won't need to say anything -- the media will spin it for him, or ignore the story. Jane Fonda came out to defend Kerry about the picture of the two of them. Look at how little coverage that has gotten.

The problem with this AWOL business is that the press are relying on total flakes. I mean, totally damaged people.
And those same people made fun of us with some of the freaks rolling in with their stuff back in the Clinton days.
This story is out of control.

I've heard two liberals say, "well Bush started it - landing on a carrier in a flight suit". I guess they meant that Bush was bringing up the military service and therefore, bringing up the ANG was fair game.
I think it's going to bite the dems badly. And .. now that it seems Kerry is one of the Clinton ilk, I hope the public is outraged and dumps him and calls for his resignation.

Keep this in mind, All of George W. Bush's friends say he is one hell of a poker player. For three years we have seen this President beat these useless democrats like rented Mules. For three long years, this President has not responded to very few of the hundreds of absurd accusations and attacks the Democrats have flung at him. The less he responds the more absurd the accusations. All of the absurd remarks have been captured on video and will be used against them.
The Bush/Cheney team will have well over 180 million dollars to be used in the next 8 months to counter these baseless attacks against him and his administration. The democrats have already provided all the ammo he needs with their public statements and votes in Congress. This fall election season is going to be fun to watch unfold :-)

"reporters know so little about the military"
You are so right .. someone said it was like you and I looking at our own MRI and trying to determine what it said, and because we're not a trained doctor, we cannot interpret it correctly. Unless you're military, you can't read military paperwork and interpret it correctly.

I did a check on Polier on opensecrets.org (money in politics) and there was a Marcie Polier from LA who, surprise, surprise, donated to Weasley's campaign. Wonder if she's related to Alex, the supposed intern in question, and what does she know?
Just found it curious.

As a Freeper pointed out previously, wasn't Benedict Arnold a "war hero?" Yet how is HE remembered in the history books? For what he did after his acts of heroism -- committing treason.
By consistently defying logic, the dumbocrats are making it easier every year.
To: Howlin
I, personally, think it's very sexy...I think I'll vote for him. He understands my pain.
