"Scientific Realism," the notion that theories are not literaly true, but instead correspond directly with physical reality, has superseded logical positivism since the sixties. What is news is the emergence of cognitive models of theory construction, which use the insights gleaned by cognitive science and psychology to explain how our mental and perceptual facilities work together to "create" science.

can you relate that to 4th century moneist/dualist arguments over the Nician creed.(ie just how divine is jesus anyway.)
