I understand your feelings about not wanting to "peak too early".

I also understand your concern about the bumper sticker, and people not realizing it is an NVA flag in the middle. People who aren't as close as some of us may not see the significance.

It is very easy for me to get worked up into a lather about Cash and Kerry when he starts to expound upon his war record. Coming from a family that has a long and honorable active duty and Guard background I hate it when individuals stand up and say:

"I did this, I did that".

My experience with these individuals is that the telling and yelling often exceed the doing.

I listen to the WarRoom with Quinn and Rose each morning when I am on my way to work. Jim had a slant on this war record thing that backs up my feelings of Hillary riding into the convention on a white horse at the last moment and "rescuing" the party, and becoming the standard bearer. Quinn sees the machinations and conniving of McAuliff,Carville, and Bubba setting up Dean and Kerry and then having them destroyed, or in Dean's case, self destruct.

Hillary doesn't want to face Rudy in '06, because if she loses the Senatorial race she is spoiled for '08, and she can't risk Kerry winning in '04 because it would then be another eight years before she could run for the big prize.

The analysis of what is happening, why, to whom, and when is almost as much fun as picking up a sign and getting out in front of people.

Thanks for your thoughts.

BTW, I am still taking the Bush43 administration to task for their run to the left. That won't end.

Hi Con...

You and Quinn could well be right about *Hillary*...God forbid!! But in any case you are exactly right about this whole "war record" issue, and I just have to tell you about an e-mailed article I got from my aunt this a.m....Ann Coulter piece about ex.-Sen. Cleland (which is probably here somewhere, too...didn't look)...according to her, Cleland lost his limbs by dropping a grenade on himself during routine training!! I can hardly believe we wouldn't know that, if true, but the point is, although he was in Viet Nam at the time, his devastating injuries were not the result of any "battlefield heroics".

These people will stop at nothing with their lies and mis/disinformation, which is also why I'm not so convinced that W is truly running to the left...(hehe! just had to say that, FRiend!)

And a million thanks to you and your family for your service to your country!!

Thanks for the pings. And thanks for keeping me honest. Someone has to.

Just to set the record straight, because I have been pretty hard on the prez, and his advisors lately:

I am not anti-Bush43, but I see many things that have been done or talked about that seem designed to appeal to the middle, and work in concert with GOTV and the 72 Hour Campaign. I am sure that I am not the only one here on FR that has some friends who are "Much More" conservative than we are. I ran into several of them last week at the Heritage Club meeting, and more than a few at CPAC in Washington in January who are not voting for B/C'04 because they have abandoned the normal Republican, certainly Conservative rules of smaller government, lower spending, support of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, (Campaign Finance Reform, Medicare Pill Bill, No Child Left Behind,((Why is the Fed Gov;t messing around in education)), the Immigration Reform Proposal, AIDS money to Africa, a lot of it etc, etc, etc.......).

I have been trying to point out to B/C'04 that this election, which at one time looked like a slam dunk, could be in jeopardy because they are alienating their support base, for no good reason. People who didn't vote for GWB the last time are not going to vote for him this time because of ill-conceived programs which appear to pander to speacial interest groups on the other side of the aisle.

They may be hateful, they may be mean, they may be conniving, BUT THEY ARE NOT STUPID, at least not all the time.

I still ask the question: When are we going to get back to a Conservative agenda, rather than looking like "Dem Lite"?

A fitting topic for a few hours over a few beers.
