"I remember what it was like to carry an M-16 in another country thousands of miles away and to not be able to tell the difference between who was trying to kill me and who wasn't, who was my friend and who was my foe," Kerry said.

He also remembers what it was like to dishonor his Brothers-in Arms...

Good analysis on John F'n Kerry tactics and the upcoming vote.

Why do I get the distinct feeling that was because he was afraid of his own troops, a la Douglas Neidermeyer of Animal House fame?

Uh, Hello! I think the President has already more than proved himself as a "War time President", as we have been at war since Sept 11, 2001. Uh, hello again.....if only X42 had realized we were at war then as we are now, the towers would probably still be standing and 3k of our citizens would still be among the living!

Great post! For me personally, I am still ashamed of how the VN vets were treated by some Americans when they came home. I would think a lot of Americans feel this way due to how the country has since shown great support for our boys during the first Gulf War, etc. It was like we wanted to make up for the way the hippies and anti-war protesters treated the returning vets. Kerry's anti-war stance will definitely be a turnoff for many Americans--especially since he seems to have forgotten 9/11 like so many democrats have...the world has changed but Kerry and is ilk are still living in the sixties.

People can show up at Kerry rallies with posters of his book, fliers explaining his record, posters of his pic with Hanoi Jane. The vets against him can follow Kerry around at appearances and protest with some clever signs and get the message across. I hope the GOP has posters of Kerry's book and posters of his pick with Hanoi Jane printed up-just leave it at that.

Buddahist monks will crawl out of the wood work

Now there's an eerie, Cronenberg-ish image I didn't need, first thing in the morning... :)

Yep, only 5,711 votes behind Gore (Buchanan got 11,446 while Nader got just over 94,000) and for 2004 that's 10 more electoral votes.

But given that high Nader vote, they'll be left wingers that will probably not totally go Green!

If I am not mistake Woodrow Wilson and FDR did not serve in the active military prior to their serving as president during WW1 and WW2.

I hope Kerry keeps up these type of attacks.

He is making a HUGE mistake. First, the people aren't going to care about him in Vietnam. His post-Vietnam record makes it a wash and a pushes it to negative territory.

Brilliant and accurate analysis.

This will ultimately work against Kerry in two ways; First he is insulting the service in the National Gaurd.

Secondly his testifying that Vietnam vets cut ears off and tortured and murdered innocent people and his appearance with Jane Fonda makes his Vietnam record a BIG negative when it comes to Vets.

Remember, we had a better recovery in the 4th quarter of 1991 through the election of 1992 than we'll probably get this time.

Based upon trends last year, the main job-producing trend should kick in to full-bore about June. It's a 15 to 18 month lagger.

I figured late to early June myself, gearing up for summer work and such.

And hopefully this will be a good tourist season.

But they were really worried Dean would devastate the party with his loss

Moreso, I'd expect them to be worried that he'd wrest control of the DNC away from them.

"I learned about a lot of questions a president ought to ask before you send young people into harm's way," added Kerry, a decorated Vietnam veteran, as he stumped in Virginia.

Problem, meet nutshell.

Kerry learned nothing, he is always wrong on the major issues. In fact he has called some of his own votes "stupid" and "ill advised". Can't afford that in a CIC.
