With the Ali/Frazier intro to boxing I expected it to always be that exciting. I thought Tyson with his power and 5 punch combinations was a prospect for exciting times but we all saw how that turned out.
Holmes was better than I gave him credit for at the time. He suffered for coming up so close to Ali. I saw him put Ali away for the last time, sad night...in many ways.

I think that fight is what made him retire. Not becasuse of the abuse, but because he wan't up for the big fights anymore. I was never a big Lewis fan, but he did always handle things with that British grace and style, not some dime store thug.

Lennox was never an ear biting thug. As for Klitscko, I agree he's a talented boxer and that he was ahead in the Lewis fight. On the other hand look at the first picture above. There are not too many refs these days who are going to let a fight go on with that much blood. The cut was one of the worst I've seen, do you remember it? I huge upwelling. I don't recall anyone saying it was caused by the inside of the glove either, in fact I seem to recall slowmo of the shots that caused it.
