Now, that is an argument I can respect and almost completely agree with.
Well said.

GWB is the most atrocious concept of conservatism that america has ever produced; in fact, I will wager Karl Marx gives him points for creating a great world.

As the man falling pst the tenth floor said, "So far, so good." Just because the earth didn't immediately swallow the United States when the deficit hit 500 billion doesn't mean that there won't be long-term consequences. At some point taxes will have to go up to pay for this horn of plenty and that's going to hit the economy hard. Both the Reagan and Clinton deficits were are much larger percentage of the GDP and we didn't see the results you predict.
Quite the opposite.

I guess you've forgotten the largest tax increase in history passed by Clinton and his RAT Congress in his first year in office...the one they forced through by one vote.
Guess you forgot that the RAT Congress raised taxes in RR's second term, and spent like madmen.
I guess you forgot the tax increases the RATs forced out of George HW Bush, along with a promise of spending cuts that just never materialized.
Are you trying to rewrite history?
I thought only liberals were historical revisionists...

LOL!
Are you trying to set us against each other now?
Your pathetic attempt is backfiring.
In this entire threat, you haven't put forth a single, solitary argument -- all your 200 or so post consist of nothing but whining and attacking posters you don't agree with.

I heard Rush, but not all of it. I was already upset before Rush. I was also a bit upset WITH Rush previously for getting down on the deficit thing as if it was a holy grail. The Boortz thing, and reading my own PA page for days and days had me doing a slow simmer for awhile. This post was done and ready to go when the floodgates opened, so I didn't get to post until today.
Rush was right on about the Frist thing though. There is just no excuse I can possibly think of for his not standing by his lead staffer.

Guess you forgot that the RAT Congress raised taxes in RR's second term, and spent like madmen. And Reagan signed on. Don't start revising history.
To: Nix 2
So, let me try and get this straight...
It's okay to go ballistic over the firing of Frist's staffer, but if you go ballistic over the size of the deficit spending, you're a 'wailing demon'?
Just trying to make sure that's what you're saying here.

We're winning the war on terror, and you're happy to misunderstand nearly everything else. Fair enough, vote for Bush. I will too, but not for most of what you've written here, The choir will love it though, I'm sure. Have fun.

He did, and I never said he didn't. We were discussing the fact that the deficits of those years demonstrably DID lead to huge tax increases, counter to the claim of the poster above.
Care to show me otherwise?...or are you just desperate for any argument at all?

We were discussing the fact that the deficits of those years demonstrably DID lead to huge tax increases, Oh come on. The deficits didn't lead to large tax increases, the democrats led to tax increases. Democrats ALWAYS lead to tax increases.
To: Jorge
My post went right to the heart of what you said, and was very much on point. All readers can see that.
Why do you folks play these silly semantic games? Do you think no one will bother to go back and read what you wrote?

Two sides of the same coin.
Too bad we have so many Republicans emulating them. Then we wouldn't even be having this conversatation.
