Taxes do not need to be raised; that's a socialist's answer.

The rapidity of expansion in federal debt is outstripping any possibility of our being able to make it up in higher revenue from an expanding economy. A good rate of economic growth is considered to be 4%. Federal spending has expanded 25% on Bush's watch. Eventually, either higher taxes or immense (and real) cuts in spending are inevitable. That or letting high inflation take place so that the debt can be paid off with cheaper dollars. I don't like any of these scenarios, so it would be infinitely preferable to balance the budget right bloody now. Not likely, unfortunately.

"...as if you so-called conservatives were personally wounded and the bleeding will never stop....This is too pathetic. Do you let others do your thinking now?

You are jumping to so many bogus conclusions...the crocodile tears are starting to make Conservatives look more and more like the libs with their hands constantly extended....your misplaced anger...Do you want to be Canada? Then go the hell there and stop calling yourselves conservatives, because you ain't.

If you were truly conservatives..."

No matter to me the way they are written...a vanity is a vanity is a vanity.

Lord knows enough of us have access to various ping lists that can be used to broadcast the vanity.

I'm not sure if I agree totally. I've seen some pretty darn well-done editorials that I would love the whole world to see.

Oh well, I guess that's why we have mods. Far be it from me to tell them how to do a job that I sure wouldn't want to have to do. ;-)

I like what he did re: the Pickering recess appointment.

I like what he did re: Kyoto.

I like what he did re: Healthy Forests Initiative.

;-)

I hope it won't be moved to chat.
It's a better editorial -- with better analysis and better written, than many I see appear in the mainstream media.

It will sway lots of folks.

***And I'm tired of idiots who think they're helping the President by pissing off thousands of conservatives.***

So, you're tired of people who want to see President George W. Bush re-elected?

I'm not in the mood for positive sentences.

You came on the thread, admitted you hadn't read it, and posted an attack on 'principled conservatives'.

I hate it when people get attacked for being principled. It's awful.

Why are you folks so hellbent on being so divisive?

None of you have given me an honest answer to my concern...one that I have posted here a number of times.

No, I'm tired of idiots who think that attacking conservatives is a smart way to win people's hearts and allegiance and time and energy and money for a reelection campaign...you know, the things that are required to win.

I find it so ironic that the very people who claim the most allegiance to George W. Bush are doing everything in their power, seemingly, to damage him politically.

I especially appreciated this part:

Are you so nonsatisfiable that you don't realize that the man from Texas stood and faced down the UN so that they can't even get a paragraph ratified because he has them running in circles and has not much to do with the terrorists and crooks who run the damb place.

I was so worried by that smear piece I read in the Washington Times the other day:
White House seeks to loan U.N. funds - $1.2 Billion - for renovations
I'm greatly relieved to hear the truth come out on this thread.

I ain't your dear.

Just ignore the unappeasables, or hit the abuse button, Jim and the mods do a good job, and don't really need the toxic invective and flame wars that have heated up so recently.

My opinions may be " irrelevant " to you, but others like and agree with them. :-)

There ARE political naifs here and a lot of them imagine that they are political " experts". They aren't .

You'll have to " suffer ", until you ignore my posts or leave.
