I bet the reporter came up with this stuff and the editors cringed but decided that, gee, maybe we can look a little less like a DNC mouthpiece by going with this story. But, the NYT does publish his articles and every little bit helps, so I'm not complaining.
Hope the White House is paying attention to Brooks' treatment of Kerry in this column - namely, one of the most effective ways to deal with Kerry is to treat him as a big joke. The guy who has a fire hydrant moved from in front of his house so he can park there. The guy who cuts in line, saying to the unfortunates "don't you know who I am?". The guy who Mickey Kaus describes as "an animatronic Lincoln." The guy who's running for President just because...well, just because. I mean, it's not like he's ever accomplished anything.
