Sorry I'm late- been running a trencher today for the new sewer line. Please don't hook your sewer line to the waste oil line from the well in your back yard like some one did down in Texas. She came home to find oil gushing from the toilet. I wonder if she is a Calmpett...

Just heard on Speed that the new fuel is 112 octane and a "different formula"...

The Wheels of Cheddar is making a run at the ROTY title; now the only question is will I be like Jamie McMurray or Larry Foyt :-)

You're not late (at least not my my watch :-) Iremember digging a trench for my sump pump line a few years ago, that was some nasty work.

It's maddening they'd schedule this to conflict with the Pitt-Notre Dame game. They should have consulted me first.

Maybe Al (is that Algore, Al "the Hustler" Sharpton, or a different Al?) was consulting them on the scheduling :-)

Just heard on Speed that the new fuel is 112 octane and a "different formula"... I didn't know Daytona was an EPA "non-attainment" area :-) Seriesly, they seem to be running a bit faster this year (Jr ran a 47.111 (191+mph) lap in the 2nd Bud Shootout practice yesterday, which nobody got to in 2003). I wonder if fuel mileage is going to suffer with the bump in octane and change of blend.

I just saw an interview with Brendan Gaughan as he was sitting in his car waiting for Daytona practice. His helmet has hundreds of signatures from the 82nd Airborne guys which was signed during his visit to Iraq with Richard Childress during the off season. What a great thing for the guys over there!!!! I hope he does well in the 500 just for all of them!!
I also see my boy Jr drew last place AGAIN for the shootout. He drew that last year and won, we shall see if he can do it again.

I saw that too! He kept saying 'they are heros' over and over. I almost teared up.
My son introduced me to NASCAR; he's a Jr. fan, so we're all Jr. fans!

Bump for the 82nd Airborne and Brendan Gaughan and Richard Childress and teams!
I hadn't seen the draw on the race yet.
I'll post it if someone hasn't already done so.

Thanks for the link. In. Here we go.
Watching practice, I was wondering if they charge the fans to get in?

I hope that Bush will show up tonight. He's taping Russert today.
Bush would be wise to show up for Daytona as well as Talledega, the Pepsi 400, and Ontario.
Of course, the big news is that for tonight's race, the Big Dog will be on the track....
Be Seeing You,
Chris

If I hook to the wrong line it's 'cause the city tapped to the wrong place.
I saw that thread but never got time to look at it.
OTOH- the locator crew screwed everybody by missing one of the gas mains leading to the city backhoe crew ripping into it, severing service to the neigbors all around (during a cold rainstorm at 09:15 the other day) and when the same locator guy showed up to "look at the problem" his only words were "Oh well!"

DALLAS NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte will race in the Daytona 500 in a car that's being repainted to advertise Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ."
Interstate Batteries chairman Norm Miller says Gibson's studio won't be charged for the rolling ad, because he believes the film about Jesus' crucifixion accurately depicts the most important 12 hours in history.
Labonte drives his No. 18 Chevy Monte Carlo for the Joe Gibbs Racing team.
Miller says the ad is a "gotta-do deal" -- because he, Gibbs and Labonte are all Christians -- and the timing couldn't be better. The Daytona 500 takes place a week from Sunday -- ten days before the film's February 25th release.

Kerry Earnhardt joins Childress Racing
Kerry Earnhardt, oldest son of the late Dale Earnhardt, will compete in five NASCAR Nextel Cup races for Richard Childress Racing, the team with which Earnhardt Sr. won six championships. Sponsorship will come from Bass Pro Shops, and the car will wear No. 33.
Childress said Earnhardt will do research and development driving for RCR in four races starting at Talladega on April 25. He will also drive at Daytona on July 3, Talladega on Oct. 3 and Atlanta on Oct. 31.
