Do you think what this guy did to this little girl was wrong, or does it really depend on the neighborhood he grew up in?
I think it was wrong. Given that the guy appears to have been raised in our society and is not mentally retarded, I would hold him accountable with the utmost penalty. He's got no excuse for not knowing the rules of our civilization.
However, it is conceivable he did not understand his actions were wrong, his ability to reason being impaired by insanity beyond the ability to distinguish right from wrong. Pretty rare in the real, non-trial lawyer world.
Y'all got caught in a cross-thread crossfire. Philosophical discussion regarding the nature of evil on another thread. Really nothing to do with this thread.
