It was taught. Was it learned? Yes it was learned and the first proof of that was a moderate republican beat a red meat conservative AND a flaming liberal in California without the vaunted "base". The GOP has learned the lesson well.

too lazy to look it up Consider this a shameless plug for a software toy called "VirtualDrive" which I found at Costco. I now have the whole Encarta thing.. Atlas, Dictionary, etc. 2 seconds away. So I actually use it. VirtualDrive cons Windows into thinking you have a dozen CD-ROM drives, but it's all really on a hard drive. No more digging out CD's just to look up a word. Or to play Sub Command :)

The Immigration proposal is applauded by the Free trade base and the populist base hates it.I'm sorry, what does immigration/amnesty have to do with "free trade" again?
There is no "base" in the GOP there is only a loosely organized bunch of narrowly focused "conservatives and PJB populists" that will be offended by ANY decision or policy this president proposes.
Where does that put you?

I'm not pushing you, you're looking for an excuses, any excuse, to bolt.
It's " their ", BTW, and that's they way to get a message to the president, NOT by ranting on FR. :-)
To: nopardons
Three of them.
One for my daughter (as a role model, my precious daughter is age 9)
One for my desk at work
And one to just "keep in the package" ;-;

It was in response to your post where you stated that the fact of somebody's vote was quite independent of the motivation to register said vote.
Oh, it was a reiteration of the basic premise: I don't care why someone else votes for my candidate, as long as they vote for him. I should add that I care a heck of a lot about the motivations of the votes that are slipping away.

I will thank you to stay on topic.
The topic is "serious tongue action with people who make you want to throw up-- pretend to enjoy it, try to enjoy it, close your eyes and convince yourself you're in a clinch with someone you actually like? Discuss."
To: lewislynn
Where does that put you? A real conservative that votes GOP. Simple.
