It was interesting if a bit jolting...It just takes some time to ponder. I think I can link God and Science on the front and back ends of the process. It's just a bit disconcerting to see them in a kind of parallel helical fusion.

YEC's/ evo deniers...I know many Christians who are not creationists ( YECs/evo deniers) Now the YECs would counter that Creationism and Christianity are inextricably linked and you cannot be one without the other.

This strikes me as a rather extreme view.

Most of the scientists pushing the evo hoax have a disbling bias, they just don't know the source of it - the second most powerful being in the universe.

So I take it that your ‘belief’ is totally faith based and there is no reason for your belief. It lacks any scientific data. It is totally based on old writings from shepherds.

Yes, yes, and no.

It is based on old writings by Jews, both the Jews who wrote the Bible and the Talmud, Christians, both the Christians who wrote the New Testament and those who came after like St. Theresa of Avilon, St. Francis Asisi, St. Augustine, European philosophers like Plato, Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Lucretius, Sophocles, Vergil, Dante, and Asian philsophers like Buddha, Lao Tzu, and Confucius.

I am not very good at reaching judgments. My method of arriving at a conclusion is something I call "triangulation": I collect a lot of different perceptions and conclusions, and sort of go for the middle ground, the "sweet spot," as it were.

For spiritual inspiration, my favorite source is Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD), which reveals daily things like this:

Astronomy picture of the day

My path to belief in God was ideosyncratic, and I doubt I could persuade anybody else to believe in God, but it worked for me. Long dark nights of the soul, praying for inspiration, praying "Oh, God, I do believe, help Thou my unbelief." Every day I doubt, and almost every day I am again renewed in my faith.

Yep... although in the defense of YEC (which is 42% of America after all) I will say that only a very small minority will make literal YEC a salvific issue in Christianity. Most either grew up in a culture where everyone believed it (as I did) or were exposed to a few Sunday school sessions. It's not a huge deal to them, they don't think about it, and I don't think many Christians' (evolution-believing, YEC, or in between) worldviews would be shattered if they find out that God created the world in 6 days instead of 6 billion years or vice-versa.

Mine would certainly be shattered if it turned out that the world was created in 6 days. I trust God not to play games with me. If He falsified the fossil record, or allowed any other being to falsify the fossil record, the world would be a scary freakish place indeed.

Would it be fair to say that the term "hypothesis" is used in setting up experiments, while "theorem" is used to explain the results of experiments?

Let me try to give some working definitions, to add to what others have already told you.

I would call a "theory" the "big picture" explanation; it is a term I rarely use in my work. In the real world (where I am a biochemist), I work strictly with hypotheses, which I formulate based on experimental observations (mine or other people's). Hypotheses are fluid, and, often, more than one hypothesis can be developed on the basis of a single experimental result. If I talk to my boss, he'll often come up with hypotheses different from mine. I design experiments to test the hypotheses; I'm trying to prove or disprove them, but the experiments are rarely conclusive, and usually lead to more hypotheses. The hypothesis is the "small picture" idea.

You will have to ask him. I speak only for myself and I generally do not do a very good job at that.

Ah yes! I, too, often have problems with my native tongue, lol!
No matter; it's been days now, and he hasn't answered.
Apparently he cannot. I'll assume it's because he's busy doing some serious soul-searching.
Maybe he'll find it!

Cheers, 24!

He fabricated the laughable "punc-equib" because the hoax is falling apart. BTW Gould died. He has known the truth for some time now.
