Come on Matt you now better. Why do we have to live trough this again. We had an anti-american rapist draft dodger for two terms.

Was there something wrong with that? I fail to see your point.

Jimmy Carter served as an officer in the Navy. He had far more military experience than Ronald Reagan had. Who was the better Commander in Chief?

Kerry claims to be a good soldier. That's nice, but we need a leader. That's what we have in George W. Bush, much like the Gipper was.

Another big issue that will come up against Kerry - and I hope Rove uses against him during the Iraq/CIA investigation. Guess who voted to cut funding to the CIA in the 1990's? HINT: Look for the guy with all the purple hearts.

You know, I wonder if Kerry will ever mention that he served in Vietnam. Otherwise people will never hear about this.

Be sure to check out Ketchup Boy using a crutch in reply #18. Looks like he's posing for the photographer but really has no need for the crutch.

Kerry joined the Navy when the Army infantry did most of the fighting.

I bet he thought he was home free in the NAVY.

It's not the Vietnam war I worry about w/Kerry, its the Cold War record that scares me.

"They" are going to destroy President Bush.

"They" are not going to destroy him. If he doesn't win it will be because of 'doomsday' people like you who stay home, or 'true conservatives' who vote for a candidate that cannot win.

That we are at war means nothing to the DemocRATS. "The Good of the Country" is never ahead of "party" (control and power) to them.

It will be ugly for sure. They intend to do everything they can to make it so. They want us to lose heart, to become discouraged. I for one, do not intend to fall for their tactic. Neither should you. ;^)

This issue is the dims talking point of the week. They will hammer on it, hoping it will take hold as an issue for the campaign. Ann Lewis, the esteemed sister of Barney Frank, and propaganda advisor too Clinton, was on The Factor tonight and was relentless on this issue. O'Reilly who can be hot and cold, ate her lunch. It was incredible, she was spewing her talking points until the break cut her off.

Even the pompous ass Montgomery had to bow to Winnie's successes as PM despite Winnie's weak military service compared to Monty's. Besides Monty came up with Operation Market Garden and blew the operation. It took GW and over 5 decades to do it right. Even Waverly or Patton would be proud of the conduct of the war.

"This" may not be a good time to make fun of Guardsmen but back during the Viet Nam War, Guardsmen were your quintessential "draftdodgers", while the Air Force and Navy were filled with "draftdodger wannabees".

Many of them discovered they'd made a mistake ~ that all the carnage wasn't in the Marines or the Infantry! Well, joke was on them wasn't it, but never mind. Bush definitely has a problem with the Air National Guard thing, and Clinton had a problem with missing out on all of it. Still, Kerry went into the Navy when a real man would have boldly signed up for the Marines (although I much prefer that the real men sign up for the Infantry).

Today it's the re-enlistment rate that differentiates among the troops. Men who clearly see their duty to God and to country are re-enlisting. Men who want to wimp out are letting their enlistments expire. Some have proposed re-instating the draft to eliminate this possibility, to wit, that some young men might wish to avoid death and destruction.

Admit it, when you give twenty-somethings such choices, some of them won't make the decisions of which we will approve 40 years from now.
