It's a long long time since this morning, but I believe Trent Lott mentioned the Church Report as being a big part of the problem.

Other than Brit there is no one with half a brain....on Fox News Channel.

I noticed that the ratings showed that Larry King and H&C had the same ratings this past book.

Doesn't that say it all.

WAKE UP AILES!

Why do we have to wait for the commission. The President has to lay out the timeline and the restrictions that have been in place.

How accurate intel is has always been a problem. Reform is needed in US intel in the area of humint(Spies). Starting in the 1970's it was thought unclean to use human resources in intelligence gathering. Most of the time those who are used have less than sterling characters. Many are criminals and less than desirable human beings. Some people in congress mainly liberals thought the use of such people was wrong. Use of such people was curtailed and our knowledge of world events has suffered. The events of 9/11 and the questions of Iraqi WMD's are a clear failure of getting people inside that could pass info on to US intelligence. I agree the idea of acting in advance to head off attacks on the US and its friends is in question when the intel is questioned. But a president must act on his best judgement when presented with facts that show a threat. That is why who is president is so important. The USA is at war and the leading Dem candidate thinks we have a police matter instead. We are not dealing with the Mafia or Columbian Drug Lords. Also who would you want to reform the inteligence services of the USA? I prefer President Bush as he see's this conflict for what it really is. Keep the faith and be aware that many ups and downs are ahead for the USA as this war will last for many years.

Hey Bombard, thanks for your cogent, informed responses. You’re right; and I will keep the faith. But check this out http://www.nationalreview.com/ledeen/ledeen200402020833.asp if you want to really be unnerved. Much like the Vatican, it appears the CIA needs a good fumigation. Take care, AG.
